Golden hour at Borobudur ๐
We got up at 3 am to catch this place at sunrise. Watching the jungle around the temple come alive from the templeโs top was a unique experience!! But the most beautiful and stunning time was when the sun got a little higher, over the morning clouds, and colored the whole temple in a golden light ๐

Did you know that Borobudur is the worldโs largest Buddhist temple?
As a UNESCO world heritage site, it is also the most visited sight in Indonesia. BUT if you visit in off-season or pre-season for the early morning tour, you can still enjoy the majestic temple without big tourist crowds.

Sunsets in Indonesia are just pure magic. We are counting days until traveling will be possible again! Southeast Asia is for sure on top of our bucket list! A little tip: Karimunjawa is still a true and perfect for adventurous travellers that wish to avoid the crowds

By the way: in low-season you can hardly find any people on any of those beaches!!

On a jungle mission ๐ด๐
This picture was from our attempt to find a secret waterfall in Lombok. But let me tell you right away that unfortunately we did not find it. The heat and humidity were brutal - like weโve never experienced before - and our water was gone in no time, so we decided to turn around. Nevertheless the jungle in Lombok is absolutely stunning! If you want to know the real Lombok we definitely recommend taking a scooter, leave tourist areas and see with your own eyes how locals live in the jungle!

As cute as they look, but you still have to really pay attention, since they always want to steal your stuff. And believe us when we say: if that monkey wants your sunscreen, it WILL get it!!
In our case, they stole it right out of our backpack that was placed on the scooter ๐ (and tried to attack us after)

When we were driving along the coast, we noticed that every beach was unique in its own way. The colour of the sand is different on every beach/lagoon. It varies from black volcanic sand to white like snow ๐๐โค๏ธ

The jungle in Lombok is as wild as it is beautiful ๐ด getting lost on the small roads/paths can be very easy - we experienced it first hand ๐
