✨✨Solo Parenting at an Amusement Park ✨✨ I’ve told John numerous times, there will come a day I take the kids to Disney by myself 🤣 We aren’t there yet since that’s also flying solo, traveling solo, a whole lot more solo than I’m ready for……. 👉🏻To anyone that parents solo regularly and this is your norm - you are a rockstar 🙌🙌 I can’t begin to describe how lucky I feel to have a partner in this (who also supports my insanity). My Advice: ✨Rent a stroller - otherwise you will be carrying your children, your bags and all the things you accumulate throughout the day. ✨Take breaks - for yourself and for them. Don’t try to do everything it will only add stress. ✨If the kids are losing it and having tantrums - are they hot? Overstimulated? Hungry? Thirsty? ✨AirTags on a watch band (from Amazon) - mostly for comfort. ✨Bring snacks and a water bottle for everyone - most amusement parks have refill stations. A snack will keep my kids occupied when we have to wait in line too 😉 ✨Last one - make them pee whenever you go pee!! Character Meet & Greets✨ These don’t always go as pictured 🤣🤣 My normally shy first-born would run straight to every character for a hug and to talk their ear off, while my outgoing second-born was hesitant each time (especially with Olaf!) Tips for a hesitant character meet: -Give your kid time! It’s ok to take a moment to let them warm up to the character -Go in for a hug yourself 🫂 I say this like I wasn’t hugging the characters for me 🤣🤣 -Some characters don’t talk (anyone with a mask) so it’s helpful to ‘talk for them’ in a sense. “Olaf would love to give you a hug!” -Talk to your kids about the experience while you’re in line waiting!
