Get to know your travel advisor!

I am often asked what I would do if it was my trip, where would I go with my family, what about a trip for just my hubby and me? At Disney World, I get asked a lot about what my favorite resort is and why. What island has the clearest water or the best bang for your buck?

So, here are some of my travel favorites and answers to questions I often receive:

✨Favorite city I have visited - Venice, Italy - There is nowhere in the world like Venice. My absolute favorite thing to do there is wander through the labyrinth of streets, window shop, snack on pizza and gelato, and just take in the gorgeous scenery at every turn. And you simply must splurge on a gondola.

✨Favorite All-Inclusive Resort for families - Hilton La Romana in the Dominican Republic. A large selection of family friendly restaurants, crystal clear blue water, a waterpark, the kindest Dominican men and ladies working at the resort, great kids clubs, entertaining nightly shows and it’s all-inclusive!

✨Favorite island: Maui, Hawaii - I grew up going to the Hawaiian islands because my parents had a timeshare there (I know - lucky me!) Maui is the most beautiful island I have ever visited. Amazing snorkeling opportunities, gorgeous views and sunsets, incredible food. You can’t go wrong with a visit to the Hawaiian Islands.

✨Favorite cruise line - Disney Cruise Line! (Shocked? I didn’t think so 🤣). Disney Cruise Line is hands down the best cruise lines for families and it can also be super fun for adults only (hello Cove Cafe, Senses Spa, Rainforest room Palo Restaurant and adults only area!) Disney Cruise Line is a premium product, but you will have more inclusions, entertainment and service than other cruise lines. If you like to get on a ship and not be “sold” to and asked to upgrade your drink packages, dining, etc., then Disney is the way to go.

✨Favorite Disney resort - Yacht Club. I love the proximity of Yacht Club to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Did you know you can easily walk right into France and the United Kingdom at Epcot right from the resort? If you don’t feel like walking, you have easy access to the boat and Skyliner to the parks. It also shares pool access with the Beach Club, and Stormalong Bay is the best Disney resort pool hands down. Did I mention they have a nightly campfire on the beach with free s’mores and they show Disney movies at night for free on the beach? Yacht Club is my favorite Disney splurge.

✨Favorite Adult Only All Inclusive- Excellence Playa Mujeres. If you are looking for a heavenly adult only getaway, this place is incredible! The service is amazing, the food is excellent, the drinks are tropical and refreshing, and there are themed nights to keep you entertained (casino night, Mexican fiesta, silent disco, etc). Did I mention fruit skewers delivered to you in your beach chair and a butler to clean your sunglasses and keep your drinks refreshed?

✨What is most in demand right now and what am I booking the most of? Disney park vacations, all inclusive family resorts and Disney cruises.

✨What destinations are on my bucket list? Greece, Costa Rica, a Mediterranean cruise and a cruise to the Southern Caribbean islands.

✨Some of my favorite travel products include Vera Bradley backpacks, Halara dresses, a portable neck and handheld fan, and of course phone chargers, phone chargers, phone chargers. You need to keep that phone charged so you can take all of those fabulous vacation memories home with you through pictures and video.

Can you believe Christmas is less than 18 weeks away? Do your kids have more toys than they (or you) know what to do with? About 10 years ago, my hubby and I decided we were done buying just stuff for our girls for Christmas presents. Their childhoods go by so fast, and what we all really want is time together and memories. So, we decided to give them an experience as their big gift each year and we never looked back. Since you all know how much we love Disney, you won’t be surprised to hear that Disney park visits and cruises are at the top of our Christmas surprise list. If you haven’t traveled to Disney over the holidays, you are missing out! The parks and the ships are decked out in Christmas decorations and there all kinds of fun holiday activities offered - think cookie decorating, gingerbread houses, themed trivia games, shows, parades and even the firework shows include Christmas fun. My family and I sailed to Disney’s brand new island paradise last week on the Disney Magic. We all give the island 10/10. The beach is simply stunning! Here is our review of our day on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point:

Don’t worry too much about the reviews you are hearing about the LONG walk from the ship to the island. The pier is about a half mile long, but the views are spectacular along the way. Disney has also added strollers and wagons to help you get the little ones across the pier. There is even a water station halfway in case you need to hydrate. We all enjoyed the walk and the views of the island and ship along the way!

Once you get to the island, you must board a tram to get to the beaches and activities. The only way this isn’t true is if you lucked out and scored a family cabana for the day. We did not, so we boarded the tram and were whisked to all of the fun! The tram was about 10 minutes long and it was fun to see the island along the way. As the island matures, the tram ride will get prettier and prettier.

At the tram stop, you will find shops, hair braiding, bars, restaurants, and all of the fun activities available for families. There is a water play area for the kids right before you get to the beach. My two older kiddos did the slides and enjoyed them, but we spent the majority of our time at the gorgeous beach. The Disney Tings store had a large variety of t-shirts, clothing, toys, and souvenirs. We picked up a few shirts and a Christmas ornament and off we went.

The highlight of this island is most definitely the beach. It’s breathtaking! The water is crystal clear, refreshing, and nothing short of amazing! We all agreed we have not been to a prettier beach. We snorkeled a little, but there were high winds and lots of waves the day we were there, so we didn’t last long. The coral and fish are beautiful though, and hopefully we’ll go back someday on a less windy day to explore more.

We enjoyed True True Too at lunchtime, and everything we ate was fantastic! There are a lot of food options for lunch, including hamburgers, hot dogs, fish, ribs, jambalaya bowls, a variety of sides and salads, and of course large chocolate chip cookies and soft serve ice cream. We all thought the ribs on this island were better than the Castaway Cay ribs, and everything was fresh and yummy. The island is known for its pineapple, so don’t skip the fruit. We didn’t see one fly while we were on the island, so Disney seems to have taken care of that problem too.

We spent the remainder of our day back on the beach and at one of the island’s bars where I had to try the Dole Whip with rum signature drink. It did not disappoint and it definitely hit the spot in the blazing heat of the day. The girls both tried the smoothie bar where they loved the watermelon limeade and the coconut smoothie. We all used the cool showers to wash off the sand and beach feel before we headed back on the tram and walked back to the ship. They had ice cold towels and fruit flavored water for us before we boarded the ship, and both were delightful. We all agree our beach day on the new island was the highlight of our vacation. Exciting changes coming to Disney World on July 24!

At Walt Disney World, guests have told us they would prefer to have the option to do more of their planning before their theme park day. So, this summer we will make changes to our Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane entry, including new ways to plan ahead.

On July 24, Walt Disney World will introduce new, simpler names to provide more clarity for everyone. Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.

We will also be updating Lightning Lane passes to help guests:

Make Lightning Lane plans before you’re here, for added confidence.
Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting.
Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.
Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning July 24.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass
When guests purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, they may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. They’ll also be able to choose available times as they make their selections. On the day of their visit, once they use a selection, they may check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.

Lightning Lane Single Pass
Lightning Lane Single Pass will work much like it does today, where guests can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but they’ll now be able to make their purchase and plan in advance.

How to Plan Ahead
Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels (Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels) will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance. These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their must-do rides and experiences after they've had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to book and any other plans they may need to consider.

Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.

Lightning Lane passes will blend features from our current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.
