THE RUINS MANSION

📍 Talisay City, Negros Occidental

The Ruins was the ancestral mansion of the family of wealthy sugar businessman Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson built on a 440 hectare sugar plantation in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, in the early 1900s in memory of his Portuguese wife Maria Braga Lacson, who died during the birth of their 8th child. During the Second World War, Filipino guerillas burned it down as a countermeasure to prevent the invading Japanese forces from using it as a military headquarters. It burned for three days. The intention was to burn it to the ground.

La VeryOl’s Kawa Bath

📍 St. Francis Drive, Barangay Francisco Tagaytay City

La VeryOl’s Kawa Bath
Yes, you read it right. The kawa hot bath has reached Southern Luzon and you can experience it in Tagaytay! Palambutin ang mga naninigas na muscle because why stop at gorging on bulalo when you can be one yourself? LOL!

First, for the unfamiliar, a “kawa” is basically an oversized metal wok or vat traditionally used in cooking dishes of generous proportions for a feast, usually a fiesta (festival), a wedding or a debut. These cauldrons are a ubiquitous sight at any Filipino celebration in the province.

at least in some areas in the Philippines like Antique, which is said to be the province where the kawa hot bath began. And from Antique, this relatively novel spa attraction has reached other parts of the Philippines like Tagaytay.

What is La VeryOl?

Formally known as La VeryOl Mountain View Garden, it is a family-owned and family-run garden-slash-spa known to offer a kawa hot bath experience. In fact, the name “VeryOl”, while confusingly stylized, came from the names of the parents Ver and Yolly. The family spirit is charmingly apparent as the members of the family take on hands-on roles.

“HIDDEN OASIS"🌊

📍PUNGTUD ISLAND, BOHOL

Virgin Island also known as Pungtud Island is probably the most iconic island destinations in Bohol. The Virgin Island, Panglao is a small strip of white sand with no vegetation on it, surrounded by the clearest water and known to many locals as the “hidden oasis".

Virgin island is not really an island, but instead is a long stretch of sandbar with crystal clear and turquoise-coloured sea water surrounds it. It earned its name as ‘Virgin’ is because nobody lives here. Nowadays, this sandbar is crowded with food stalls & tourists during low tide.
Stroll along the beautiful white sands and enjoy the splendor of this uninhabited tropical paradise.

📍BURGOS COCONUT ROAD, SIARGAO

Nothing says “tropical island getaway” quite like narrow roads, thousands of palm trees and waves crashing in the distance. If that’s what you’re looking for, then Coconut Road in Siargao has the answer.

Coconut Road Siargao is pretty nondescript. It’s definitely one of the most Instagrammable Siargao tourist spots. There’s usually a few other cars/motorbikes pulled over, all getting their Instagram shots.

📍 BILAR MAN-MADE FOREST, BOHOL

A favorite stop-over for tourists going to and from the Chocolate Hills, the Bilar Man-made Forest.

As part of a larger regeneration project, the Bilar man-made forest was developed in response to the increasing deforestation in the Loboc watershed. This resulted from the damaging kaingin farming method, which was adopted by the villagers who sought safety in the forest during World War II.The reforestation project that created the Bilar Man-Made Forest in Bohol was created by the local government unit and implemented by government employees, students, and volunteers.

The Bilar Man-Made Forest often included in a Bohol sightseeing escapade is great for a slow walk down a natural tunnel formed by the canopies of well-spaced trees. It's a tranquil place, so it's great if you're looking for a short pit stop before your next Bohol adventure, the forest is just north of it.

Want to feel like you're in a fairytale? Asik-Asik falls is the perfect place for you

It wasn't until 2010 that this amazing natural wonder was found, and the cause of that finding is still unclear. With its streams of water cascading down a 60-meter-high rock wall to form a 140-meter-wide curtain of water and vegetation, Asik-Asik Falls is a really magnificent sight to see.

Asik-Asik Falls is a unique phenomenon. Slow-pace walking is the key here❗❗
People with weak knees or leg problems may find it arduous to navigate through several steps, especially when going back up to the main road.

📍MONKAYO, DAVAO DE ORO

Do you want to see a waterfall that will take your breath away? Come to Awao Falls right away!

Awao Falls is located in the upland farming village of Brgy. Awao, Monkayo Municipality. In terms of ecotourism, Awao is one of the top locations in the province of Compostela Valley, now Davao de Oro. There is no direct transit to this spectacular waterfalls, thus an hour bumpy habal-habal trip with river crossing is required to see its hidden beauty. Getting here will undoubtedly be difficult, but you will be rewarded by pure and spectacular waterfalls. The scenery is stunning, the mood is soothing, the water is refreshing, and the air is clean.

Fortunately, Awao Falls has maintained its natural beauty even as it has grown in popularity among tourists, thanks partly to the Monkayo local government unit for taking initiatives to protect its raw and natural beauty.

In Quiapo, Manila, there is a street that conceals many hidden treasures.

📍BAHAY NAKPIL-BAUTISTA IN QUIAPO, MANILA

Bahay Nakpil-Bautista or “Tahanan ng mga Katipunero,” a well-preserved 18th century structure that now operates as a museum and events space, and more importantly, a gateway to years past.

It was built in 1914 by Arcadio Arellano. The design of the Nakpil house represents the traditional urban Filipino style popular at that time—brick walls around the ground floor and a second storey made of wood

Bahay Nakpil-Bautista is known for having silently witnessed the clandestine meetings of the revolutionary movement during the Spanish colonial era, but this is what makes it stand out more than simply for its impressive architecture.
