Here's a sneek peek of what we have been up to in the last month. It's now time to reveal the result of the major renovation that has been happening at Banksia House. 🫣

Our regular guests may have noticed movement in the tiles upstairs in the past few years.... they are now all gone!

With the assistance of quite a few local trades, the upstairs has been transformed and a Dishwasher has also been installed! 😃

🎾Tennis🎾 Have you been inspired by the Australian Open?
Woodgate's tennis courts can be hired for a game or, you can drop in for a hit with the Woodgate Tennis Club.

Think you’d like to give tennis a go?

Well you can. The Woodgate Tennis Club is a dedicated group of players who meet twice a week for a social game of tennis and have been doing so for over forty years!

Join club members for a game on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, from 7-9 am or hire the court for your own hit out with family and friends.

Tennis Club membership is $20 per year, with a Pickleball Club membership included. Cost per game is $4 for members, $6.00 non members.

The public, Council-owned courts are located on Seventh Avenue. You can hire the courts at the General Store (on the Esplanade).

A great way to spend a morning among a group of friendly welcoming players.

I had a man come to me one day and said he was leaving Woodgate as there was nothing to do once you were over fishing and beach walking!
(Actually can’t imagine being over either to be honest!)
He said he had made no friends, no one came to visit and he had no near neighbours as both sides of him were holiday rentals!
A wise man (my Father) once told me, ‘Lesley the world won’t come to you, you have to get out into the world’ and he’s right!
No good sitting at home waiting for someone/something to come to you, so with that in mind I’m going to do a series of posts over the next few weeks about all the amazing and diverse things you can become involved it here in our beautiful slice of paradise!
(if I miss something please let me know)

Today I’m going to start with the Pickle Ball Club for no other reason that it’s the fastest growing sport in the world and can be enjoyed by all, both Men and Women of all ages from young to …well not so young!
We are fortunate here at Woodgate to have great Tennis/Pickle Ball/ Basket Ball courts, prepared by the Bundaberg Regional Council for all to enjoy.
The Picklers (I just named them that!) have been active for over twelve months now and attract both tennis players and novice players alike, and I have to say they were all having a great fun morning when I went to see them!
The cost is: membership $20 per year (this covers tennis as well) and $4.00 per morning or casual rate of $6.00. Children under 15/$2.00
Play happens on Saturday 7.00/9.00 and Sunday 4.30/ 6.00.
All are welcome to come along and join the fun, always someone to teach you how to play the game.
