Mir’s Mini Forest – Kathar, District Hyderabad

An urban forest and perfect example that if you love nature, create your own. Mir's Mini Forest is a place close to both cities and nature. Located on a canal bank home to hundreds of self grown plants, various birds have now chose it as their home. Peaceful and Beautiful urban forest for a retreat from tiring metropolis life.
Located on main Hyderabad-Badin road. Approximately 185 kilometers from Karachi and 15 kilometers from Hyderabad City.
Caution: Since this is a private property it is advisable to call in advance (contact numbers are available at their page) to confirm availability of the place on a certain date.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral [Karachi -Sindh - Pakistan]
St. Patrick’s Cathedral is located near the Empress Market in the Saddar, Karachi. The church was completed in 1881, and can accommodate 1,500 worship. At the front of the cathedral is the Monument to Christ the King, built between 1926 and 1931 to commemorate the Jesuit mission in Sindh.
The present-day cathedral is built in Gothic Revival architecture; it measures 52 metres by 22 metres, and has the capacity to accommodate at least 1,500 worshippers at the same time.
Today, the cathedral's grounds are adorned with a marble monument of Christ the King, which was constructed in 1931 to commemorate the memory of the Jesuit Mission in Sindh. The Parish Priest is Father Edward Joseph.
Ideal time to visit is early Morning, winter season is best…

Hiran Minar 1620, Shekhupura - Punjab, Pakistan
The complex was built at the site of a game reserve in memory of Mughal Emperor Jahangir's pet antelope. The Emperor is remembered for his fondness of nature, and his complex embodies the Mughal relationship between humans, pets, and hunting.
The Hiran Minar complex is located in the city of Sheikhupura, about 40 kilometres northwest of Lahore.

The Chaukhandi tombs form an early Islamic cemetery situated 29 km east of Karachi, in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The tombs are notable for their elaborate sandstone carvings.

The New Memon Masjid known as the Memon Masjid of Karachi, is one of the largest and oldest mosques in the city located on M.A Jinnah Road. Masjid capacity of people were 10,000.
The New Memon Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in the city. The mosque features three domes and two towers on each side of the religious center. The location was once used as a graveyard, but has since became one of the most visited venues in the region.

Nagarparkar, District Tharparkar (Sindh) Pakistan. Approximately 450 kilometers from Karachi and 130 kilometers from Mithi.
1. Located at approximately 5 kilometers from Nagar town you will find ruins of three Jain Temples. At least two of these temples are believed to be built in 13th and 14th Century. The temples were inscribed in tentative list UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2016. The restoration work on the temples is also underway.
2. Ideal for landscape, Stargazing and heritage lovers.
3. Ideal times to visit the area are (i) Winter and (ii) after rain.
Cautions: When I visited the place with a group of friends I discovered that due to border area with neighboring country, you need permission from the authorities to carry a DSLR. Not sure if that has changed till date.

Renala Khurd - District Okara
Accessible by Grand Trunk Road and Pakistan Railways.
2. Places to explore:
(i) Sir Ganga Ram Hydel Power Station established in 1925, situated on Canal Lower-Bari-Do-Aab [Place ideal for Heritage lovers]

(ii) Mitchell's Fruit Farms established in 1933 by Mr. Francis J. Mitchell at more than 700 acres of land. Over time the size of the farms has shrunk. Place is ideal for a peaceful evening and Birdwatchers.
3. Ideal time to visit is spring, however since the city is located at bank of two canals anytime can be a good time.

Bhodesar Mosque
Nagarparkar, District Tharparkar (Sindh) Pakistan
