Arrrhh - she's a fine sight.
Arrival. 1 boat ahead of us awaiting clearance.
So much energy. A fine raconteur.
Billy shares the view on our hike today around Tiburon.
Vern 1000 Sunday, June 11
Water is glassy calm with long swells. Still no wind. I emptied our 5 spare Gerry cans in the fuel tanks so we have sufficient fuel if forced to run the engine the rest of the way. Hopefully not but the forecast is not positive for wind.
Overcast and a bit cool. Saw lightning last night but not close. There had been a weather advisory of possible thunderstorms even with hail. Go figger.
Bill is on watch and has reported seeing humpback whales. Perhaps he is a whale magnet.
Ensenada - no question - we were in Mexico.
There are 7000 boats moored in the San Diego basin. Boats as far as the eye can see. Not much in the way of cruising grounds, unlike BC.
Exit Strategy Delivery - sailing to Ensenada. Ed Watson drone
Sailing yesterday was pleasant as we made our way to Ensenada. Nothing but ocean in every direction.
Today was a planning session for our upcoming Exit Strategy Delivery. We have a circumnavigator (William Norrie), a new to offshore but great with a camera sailor (Ed Watson) and me onboard - Vern. We're keen to get going. This was a great opportunity to look over our gear, discuss what we need to take along to the boat, and arrange flights.
We're delivering a fine sailboat from Puerta Vallarta to Victoria, a Wauquiez PS40, good sea boat. We'll start in really warm temperatures that will become progressively cooler as we sail north.
We hope our family and friends follow along with us on this adventure.
