PRESS RELEASE

PASAY, Philippines—Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco sees that the country’s e-Travel platform would allow faster and easier processing for arriving passengers.

The system, which was launched on December 5, is an initiative of a sub-technical working group of the IATF, chaired by the BI.

Partner agencies are the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), the Bureau of Customs (BOC), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“The system will consolidate all data collection processes at the ports,” said Tansingco. “Instead of having to fill out several forms for different agencies, all will be consolidated into one platform to streamline entry procedures,” he added.

The use of the platform will replace the arrival cards, which were previously submitted upon arrival to the BI. Effective December 5, the BI will no longer require the submission of the paper-based arrival cards for arriving passengers.

Information from the platform will also replace the BOQ’s One Health Pass, and the BOC’s arrival form. Registration on the eTravel is free.

Tansingco sees that the project is a major achievement to ensure interoperable systems among government agencies.

“We are happy and proud to be part of this achievement. This is a product of working together with different government agencies, with the aim of improving our services for the public,” said Tansingco.

MIAA-GRAB PARTNERS TO IMPROVE AIRPORT LAND TRANSPORT SERVICE

December 15, 2022, Pasay City - The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and Grab Philippines join hands to enhance transport service at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The partnership dubbed as "Airport to Anywhere (ATA)" pilot program aims to initially deploy a dedicated fleet of 200 Grab accredited vehicles to service the increased demand for transport vehicles in NAIA.

The ATA can be booked through the Grab mobile app with fixed pricing based on drop off location and no surge charges.

MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong initiated talks with Grab Philippines in September and expressed elation that finally the partnership has come to fruition.
"We explored this partnership as part of our preparations for the Christmas season. We thank Grab Philippines and the LTFRB for joining hands with us in the interest of our air riding public," GM Chiong said.

NAIA's monthly passenger volume last month has reached 3.1 million or a 229% increase compared with the figures for the same period last year.

MIAA Management has tapped Grab Philippines to add on to its airport vehicle fleet. MIAA expects the upward trend in passenger traffic to be more pronounced starting December 16 when vacationing kababayans arrive from abroad.

The MIAA-Grab undertaking is an endeavor that is expected to address the high demand for airport vehicles this Christmas and at the same time give passengers a wider selection of transport options to choose from.

New Cebu-Baguio service to commence on December 16

Good news for our passengers!

Beginning December 16, 2022, PAL will offer direct flights between Cebu and Baguio City.

This new route will allow hassle-free travel to the City of Pines from the Queen City of the South, and vice versa, in just two hours.

From December 16, PAL's Cebu-Baguio-Cebu flights will operate four times weekly with convenient morning departures, as follows:

· PR 2230 Cebu-Baguio - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- departing Mactan Cebu at 08:50 AM, arriving at Baguio Loakan Airport at 10:50 AM
· PR 2231 Baguio-Cebu - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- departing at Baguio at 11:10 AM, arriving in Cebu at 01:00 PM

Known as the 'Summer Capital of the Philippines' for its year-round cool climate and breathtaking location 1,400 meters above sea level, Baguio is your destination for tourist holidays. The City of Pines is also a business hub that hosts the Baguio City Economic Zone.

PAL domestic departures to transfer to Cebu Terminal 1 starting October 15

To our valued passengers:

We will be relocating all PAL domestic departures to Terminal 1 of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) effective October 15, 2022.

Starting October 15th, flight terminal assignments at Mactan Cebu will be as follows:

· Terminal 1 for domestic departures and arrivals

· Terminal 2 for international departures and arrivals.

(In the meantime, up to October 14, PAL domestic flights will depart from Terminal 2 and arrive at Terminal 1, while PAL international departures and arrivals continue to use Terminal 2.)

However, please note that construction of our new domestic Mabuhay Lounge at CEB Terminal 1 is still in progress. In the meantime, eligible passengers can avail of the Plaza Premium Lounge located at CEB Terminal 1.

The terminal change is mandated by the Mactan Cebu airport authorities to help ensure operational efficiency and passenger convenience.

Please check the terminal assigned to your flight before proceeding to the Mactan Cebu airport for a hassle-free departure.

Pursuant to Pasay City Ordinance No. 589, Series of 1996 and Parañaque City Ordinance No. 12-02 Series of 2011, flying kites and raising pigeons are prohibited within a 13km radius from the NAIA as it poses risk on aircraft flying in and out of the airport. Flying drones near airports and pointing lasers at the aircraft also pose significant flight hazards.

Violators will be dealt with accordingly.
