☀️ Blue Skies, Big Views, and Even Bigger Energy! ☀️
Today was the first warm, sunny day of the summer, and our senior guide team hit the trail for a training hike up Harbor Ridge—one of Sitka’s most breathtaking viewpoints!

Zane, Antonio, Walter, Fiona, Silas, and Bethany spent the day brushing up on their route knowledge, guide skills, and trail safety while soaking up the sunshine and incredible views.

We're fired up to welcome guests this summer and show off what makes Sitka so special—from the ridgelines to the rainforest and everything in between. This crew is ready. Are you?

🚴‍♀️🚶‍♂️ HOT PSA: Did you know?! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️
The multiuse path from Jeff Davis Street to the Gary Paxton Industrial Park isn’t just a safe and scenic route — it’s the result of years of hard work and collaboration from our Sitka community 💪

As part of the 2014 Sawmill Creek Road Revitalization Project, this pathway was made possible thanks to a $2.5 million investment – funding that Sitka Trail Works, Sitka Bike & Hike (now High Output Tours!), and many other local advocates lobbied the state for over several years. 🚧🌲🚴‍♂️

This path provides a safe space for both pedestrians and cyclists, letting locals and visitors alike soak in the beauty of Sitka without the hazards of sharp turns and narrow shoulders — especially in that stretch between the Mormon Church and Silver Bay Seafoods. 🙌

Here’s how we use and respect the path at High Output Tours:
👥 Our groups ride single file
🚲 We always have a guide in front and in back
👉 Riders stay to the left in the direction of travel when passing others
📣 Front guide announces: “Passing – [number] behind!”
🧍 Rear guide calls: “Last one passing!”
📸 Guests must fully stop with one foot on the ground before taking photos or videos
🚶 We always leave room for pedestrians and share the space respectfully

Safety is HOT’s #1 priority — for our guests, our guides, and our community.

✨ If you’re out enjoying the path:

- Walk/ride single file if in a group when passing others

- Pass on the left and call it out or give some kind of audible notification (bell, horn, etc.)

- Yield to pedestrians

- Keep those headphones low and eyes alert

If you haven’t had a chance to try the newest (and tastiest) addition to the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal, you are seriously missing out! Baranof Bread & Batter is now serving up mouthwatering fry bread and scones right next to the ship return.

Some of our team got to sample their new savory fried bread yesterday and let me tell you—it’s absolutely to die for. Warm, fluffy, flavorful perfection. Do yourself a favor and stop by next time you’re in the area—you won’t regret it!

We get a lot of questions about what our Savory option is, so here you have it! A delicious combination of our fried dough, brushed with a touch of olive oil, and sprinkled with Everything Bagle Seasoning.

What a stunning day in Sitka!
With six ships in town, the docks are buzzing—and we’re feeling honored to be sharing our hometown with so many new faces. Today alone, nearly 300 guests are heading out on adventures with our High Output Tours crew, and we couldn’t be more excited to show them the magic of this place we call home.

From the mountain trails to the salty sea air, Sitka is showing off today—and we’re here for it!
