A great day despite a bit of English summer drizzle 🙄. The Sussex Prairie Garden is just beautiful. Thank you to Jan our guide and Pauline the owner for all the information. Bramber/Adur Valley/Sussex Prairie Gardens - August 8th

We begin with morning refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits!) in a classic English pub in a picture postcard village, followed by a tour of the Upper Adur Valley with a top notch entertaining Blue Badge guide and an interesting stop along the way, before we return to beautiful Bramber for a chicken lunch.

The afternoon is dedicated to the Sussex Prairie Garden - an eight acre paradise of huge beds of colour. The Indian Bazaar is an annual event where billowing white marquees are erected in the garden full of gorgeous clothes in cottons and vintage sari silk, semi precious designer jewellery, scarves, colourful rugs and home furnishings as well as gifts and curios – all ethically traded from India. We finish the day with tea & cake (included in tour price) and we'll be making tracks for home by 4.45pm. Delightful!

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, the operation which laid the foundations for the Allied victory on the Western Front and the end of WW2. The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied during the war, leaving lasting marks on Jersey’s landscapes.

Jersey will celebrate 80 years of liberation next year on Friday May 9th, nearly one year on from D-Day.

Our fabulous Jersey holiday is scheduled for Tuesday May 6th until Saturday May10th which means that we shall be on the island when the 80 years of liberation celebration takes place!

May 9th is Liberation Day in Jersey and the day is considered as Jersey's national day and is celebrated year after year with bands, parades, services, singing and dancing, and the 80th celebration will be especially significant.

I have sold all single occupancy rooms and have a waiting list of nine people. I am trying to negotiate more single rooms and will let the nine people on my waiting list know if I am successful.

There are a few twin and double rooms left, but please be aware that these may be subject to an increase in cost if not booked by the 14th of June.

I'm delighted to say that we will be going to the gorgeous island of Jersey on the 6th May, 2025 for five days!

Staying on a half board basis (served dinner and cooked buffet breakfast) in one of the most beautiful locations in a 4* hotel with unrivalled panoramic sea views. Excellent flight times with British Airways from Heathrow included.

Excursions include a full island tour, tastings at the La Mare Vineyard with a cream tea, a boat trip around the south of the island, a visit to the emotive war tunnels and free time in St. Helier.

What an enjoyable day! 'Witness for the Prosecution' was brilliant. Classic Agatha Christie in a fantastic setting. Lovely lunch with some of the group at a nearby Italian. Several new faces today and I love how friendly and chatty everyone is. Thank you for coming and looking forward to the next one!
