Starting from the friendly, welcoming Village of Uave (nestled in at 1100m) there are two great treks...

1. A five hour challenge of 5km with an overnight Village stay, a lot of fun. Experience the history and customs of the people, heritage and ancestors
2. An overnight 8 hour trek to the top of Shungol, camp on top, with a safe and welcoming group and back down the next day... This one is tough but worthwhile.. (peak is 2905m)

The scenery and terrain is amazing.

Are you ready for an unforgettable adventure in Papua New Guinea?

Before you embark on your Mt. Wilhelm trekking adventure in Simbu Province, you need to prepare yourself for the challenges and rewards of this amazing country.

That's why PNG ADVENTURE MOROBE offers a pre-trip training to Vuwev village in Buang, Morobe Province, where you will learn about the culture, history and environment of PNG in collaboration with Zak Tourism & Tours. You will also get to practice some basic skills such as hiking, camping and navigation. This training will help you enjoy your trekking experience more and make you a responsible and respectful traveller. In this pre-trip training, you will:

🌿 Just returned from an unforgettable journey to Uvev village in the heart of Buang LLG, Bulolo District, Morobe Province! 🚗💨 2.5 hours of scenic drive from Lae, navigating sealed and dirt roads with a few challenges along the way due to recent rains. 🌧️ Overcoming landslips, we were welcomed warmly by the villagers.

Our trek unfolded like an adventure novel—waterfall hopping, mountain climbing, breath-catching moments, mandarin-powered energy boosts, sacred caves with a no-photo rule, river crossings, and a wait for Davina (she has her own clock! ⏰). The skeleton caves were a jaw-dropping finale.

Despite slippery treks, busted knees, and sore calf muscles, the memories made were absolutely worth it! 🏞️💪

Brief History of NADZAB.

Nadzab Airport is located near Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. It was originally built during World War II by the Australian Army and later expanded by the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1943. The airport played a significant role as a key base for Allied forces during the Pacific War. After the war, it was used for civilian purposes, becoming an important regional airport in Papua New Guinea. Nadzab Airport has undergone various renovations and developments to improve its facilities and services over the years. It continues to serve as a vital transportation hub in the region, connecting Lae to domestic and international destinations.
