Between December 1997 and August 1999, the Bear Creek Development Corporation sold Jeffco Open Space over half of the 3,169 acres that would protect the iconic Clear Creek corridor.

This acquisition was vital in contributing to the protection of local nesting raptors and providing access to myriad recreational opportunities in Clear Creek Canyon Park.

It ultimately took 25 separate fee acquisitions to create Clear Creek Canyon Park as it is today.
