As I write the following post I feel it’s important to acknowledge that we live in a rich multicultural society, however this land Always was and Always will be Traditional Aboriginal land! The 26th of January is a day myself and many others take to reflect about the past and it’s significance. Like everything many of us have varying views and opinions, especially about today. Regardless of how you acknowledge this day be respectful of others and their feeling. Education is always key, and as we continue to learn and become more aware on our past, together we can make positive and meaningful changes for our collective future! This artwork is all about that, a journey and moving towards a positive and inclusive future for all. The circular sections within my works represent to me groups of people and are connected together through bold lines highlighting our journey together. The colours within this artwork represent the traditional and sacred lands under our feet, which we live, work and play on Country. Regardless of your views surrounding the 26th of January, please be respectful of our countries strong history and rich living culture! Cheers Zac 🖤💛❤️

🌿🐨 Meet Arnold the Koala at Park! 🐨🌿
Did you know that koalas aren’t bears? They’re cuddly-looking marsupials with some seriously quirky habits - and Arnold is here to steal your heart!
Here are some fun facts about our furry friend Arnold:
👉 Sleep champion: Koalas, like Arnold, snooze for up to 22 hours a day. Life’s tough when you’re this adorable!
👉 Picky eater: Arnold is super selective - he only munches on certain types of eucalyptus leaves. Gourmet dining, koala-style.
👉 Wild at heart: Koalas may look cuddly, but they’re wild animals with sharp claws. Luckily, Arnold loves meeting guests and even enjoys a gentle pat on our guided tours (with a little space and respect, of course!).
👉 Helping a cause: Koalas like Arnold are vulnerable due to habitat loss, bushfires, and disease. Every visit to Walkabout Wildlife Park helps support their conservation!
💚 Want to meet Arnold? Join our nature and wildlife tour at Walkabout Wildlife Park! Get up close with Australia’s most iconic (and relaxed) local celebrity.
📸 Pro tip: Don’t forget your camera - Arnold is always photo-ready! Plus, Matt will take professional photos of you with Arnold and throughout the tour, so you’ll leave with amazing memories to cherish forever.

Summer fun. Zoom in to see more details!

If you’ve felt a strange sprinkle while standing under a tree this Sydney summer, you may have been caught in a cicada shower! These buzzing icons of the season are known to “pee” while feeding on tree sap, releasing excess water as tiny droplets. It’s all part of their fascinating life cycle - and a quirky reminder of nature’s wonders (and surprises)!

In eastern grey kangaroos, joeys typically stay in their mother’s pouch for about 8-9 months after birth. During this time, they grow and develop, relying entirely on the pouch for protection and nourishment.
After 9 months, they begin venturing out of the pouch for short periods, exploring their surroundings and grazing on grass. However, they’ll still return to the pouch for comfort, feeding, or safety until they’re about 12 months old. Even after they stop using the pouch, joeys may continue to suckle from their mother for another 6 months or so.

From the rugged coastlines to the sheer cliffs of the Blue Mountains, Sydney’s breathtaking landscapes are shaped by Hawkesbury Sandstone. Formed over 200 million years ago, this stone isn’t just a natural wonder—it’s a cultural treasure.
For thousands of years, it served as a canvas for Aboriginal rock art and provided shelter for First Peoples. Today, it defines our heritage buildings and natural beauty.
Take a closer look next time you’re exploring—those intricate patterns and warm tones are a testament to nature’s artistry and deep history.

Bondi and Manly might be Sydney’s most famous beaches, but as city beaches accessible by public transport, they’re often crowded and overrated. Just outside the city, however, lies a hidden gem—Pearl Beach—a tranquil escape with stunning natural beauty, far from the hustle. 🌊✨ Discover this paradise on my private tour!

These depressions in the sandstone rock are axe grinding grooves, created many years ago by the Aboriginal people from the Central Coast region. Part of the rich cultural heritage of the area, these grooves were formed when a stone axe was rubbed on the rock surface to sharpen the axehead. Once sharpened, the axehead was mounted on a wooden handle and used for various woodworking tasks. Axe grinding grooves like these are often found around waterholes in creek beds, where water was likely used to lubricate the axe or rock surface during the grinding process.

I’m proud to say that Sydney Guided Tours is unlike any other tour operator in Sydney. I take you to places that aren’t on traditional tourist paths.
My goal is to show you what "Sydneysiders" get up to in their time off, often in the stunning natural environments located just outside of Sydney. As a born and bred Sydney local who is passionate about our natural landscape, flora and fauna, I’ve spent my weekends and holidays discovering the hidden jewels located on the other side of Sydney. I’d like to share them with you.
