I ALMOST STOLE THIS....

This ROBE was the MOST PLUSHEST, comfy, luxurious robe I have ever worn. And I don't even like robes.

The devil is in the DETAILS. These are just some of the few lavish amenities that SLS holds for you in their Elite category. This is on top of their SPECTACULAR rooftop rooms (the views), their culinary experience and superb selection of Top Shelf Drinks.

Do you know about Costa Mujeres?

It's basically accross the street from Isla Mujeres, but on the main land, North of Cancun. Costa Mujeres/Playa Mujeres, collectively, are the newest resort development area with a grand amount of all-inclusive hotel rooms, 5 star amenities and offering for a variety of clientele.

Last week I had the chance to visit 2 of the newest properties available. Both were FABULOUS, but very different. Here is a breakdown of the first-

SECRETS PLAYA BLANCA *****
ADULTS ONLY, ALL INCLUSIVE

Meticulous design and lush foliage create a perfect haven for relaxation. SPB is a perfect place to slow down the time and indulge in delicious cuisine, handcrafted libations and enjoy nightly entertainment in a casual, boho chic atmosphere.

Rooms - 9/10
Facilities - 9/10
Food & Beverage - 10/10
Service - 10/10
Beach - 10/10
Pools - 10/10

Perfect for adult only weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, friends trip (with an *) or a relaxing getaway.

Not ideal for - families, guests looking for tons of nightlife or lots to do outside the resort. Also, not ideal for sharing rooms with people you don't know too well, or even with your parents. This resort is for adults over the age of 18 only.

My favorite things:
Nice layout, easy to walk anywhere
The Jungle Pool was amazing
The Service was outstanding EVERYWHERE!
The beach was beautiful and super walkable
Lush foliage everywhere
The design of each space was a feast for the eyes!
Huge variety of food offerings, but also a great deal of authentic, well-done Mexican food, which I live for.
Top shelf spirits
The live music was awesome
The fire pits were a really cool place to spend the evenings.

LUNGENFUNKTION

It was to be the trip that topped all the trips we have taken in 10 years of marriage, a "Honeymoon Pt. 2". We had been looking forward to this beautiful Rhine River Cruise, with a few extra features in Amsterdam and a bonus train ride to Cologne. For the grand finale, we had a BREATH-TAKING journey up the Swiss mountains, to find beautiful Lucerne. We would eat chocolate and swiss cheese. Well, God had other plans.

My husband was admitted to a hospital in Germany on the 3rd day of our cruise, and diagnosed with a double pulmonary embolism. He was only 46 at the time and in good health and shape otherwise. Even though there were signs, we did NOT see it coming.

We spent 3 days in the University Hospital of Mannheim, where things moved both fast and very slow, and completely in German. Arthur was promptly put on blood thinners and immediately felt better. His 3 days of hospitalization were mostly so he could be under observation, and we were so blessed that he was not in pain, just uncomfortable and bummed to be missing the rest of our journey. We were so fortunate to be able to return home a couple of days after his release. Grateful does not even begin to cover it....

So, these are the lessons I want to share with you all because some things are unavoidable but others we can surely help.

BUY THE TRAVEL INSURANCE. It helped us cover our unexpected expenses and medical bills

WEAR THE COMPRESSION SOCKS DURING FLIGHTS. Clots are more common than you think and long flights can be detrimental. Get up and move around as often as possible before and during flights!
LEARN HOW TO USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

LISTEN TO YOUR SYMPTOMS AND SPEAK UP. Arthur had been feeling a funny pain in his upper back and had been short of breath for no reason. The doctors dismissed him TWICE without further check ups. If we would have been more insistent, he could have saved himself this huge scare.

BE ALWAYS SUPER DUPER GRATEFUL. Things can change in just 1 minute, nothing is ever guaranteed. Be thankful of all the many, many blessings in your life and don't take anything for granted. Say "I love you", take the trip and be kind and never stop praying.

TRAVEL WITH FRIENDS. Our friends told us to go to the hospital, our friends helped us pack, our friends made sure we were taken care of in all the ways they could.

LASTLY, I LEARNED THAT DOCTORS AND MEDICAL STAFF IN MANNHEIM ARE PRETTY FANTASTIC! I am not saying we don't have good doctors here but I am forever grateful that they saved my baby's life and now we get to plan more honeymoons together. Real talk. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In an article published on LinkedIn, Robert Glazer talks about 4 things you don't learn at school. The 4th item addresses regrets.

"You Won’t Regret the Things You Did-

Regret is a powerful force in life. It serves as both a reminder of our past decisions and a motivator for our future actions.
The truth is when all is said and done and especially towards the end of our lives, we regret the things we don’t do far more than the things we did; numerous studies over the years have backed this up with data. The biggest regrets you will have will be the things you did not do:

1. The person you never asked out.
2. The business you never started.
3. The trip you didn’t take with your friends or family.
4. The difficult conversation you were afraid to have with someone you loved or cared about."

I personally only might have to contend with #4 but I can help you with #3 if you need the assist! Group Travel is REWARDING and overall BETTER experience. It is an investment that will continue to give back forever. You can choose a tropical paradise, an exotic destination or a great adventure, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

I know I plan to have a million great stories for my grandchildren and for anyone that can stay awake and still hear at my nursing home. YOLO!!!!
