The first day of our backpacking trip at the Skoki Lakes region. Admiring the views of Baker Lake and the surrounding valley. I could not recommend this place enough. If you like backpacking, this is one of the best spots out there in my personal opinion.

Incredible views from near the top of Skoki Peak. You can see all 4 turquoise lakes from there. Absolutely stunning. Skoki Lakes is one of my favourite backpacking regions out there.

Crunching through the snow at the Grotto Canyon. In have to admit, to me, the Falls aren't the best part if this trail (where many actually stop). It's the part after the cave - peaceful, wild, beautiful and often not crowded at all.

-20-something degrees created an amazing opportunity to finally get a parking spot at the Grotto Canyon Trailhead parking lot. It's definitely worth it. The best part was, there were no other hikers right after the frozen waterfalls. Had the whole trail to myself for most of it. Stunning views. Absolutely loving Alberta.

Great views (except for the smoky factory) from Yates Mountain from this Saturday's lovely winter hike. The ranger cabin on top of the mountain is a dream vacation cabin for everyone who loves the outdoors (people actually live on top of Yates Mountain for a couple of months throughout the season). But I am sure they use a helicopter for their grocery runs. Anyways, a great hike I'd recommend for anyone whi's looking for a nice winter experience without much gear (I'd only recommend spikes).

A lovely day out near Banff. The Spray River Loop trail is not too exciting, but still a great way to spend some time in nature. Did not know the second part of the trail is an xc ski only, so had to do it as out and back.

Breathtaking views right after crossing over the Deception Pass, at Skoki Lakes. Here you can catch the first glimpse of Myosotis and Zigadenus turquoise lakes before actually hiking passed a feet away from both of them. A great hike and an even greater backpacking trip.
