On Friday the economic development task force along with other members of the Jefferson Chamber of commerce and Jefferson village officials visited Bellefontaine, OH in Logan County, 48 miles northwest of Columbus. This is a community that has been transformed over the last 10 years from dying to destination. This has been accomplished through millions of dollars in private investment renovating 57 historic buildings, opening 17 new retail stores and creating 180 new downtown jobs. The transformation has been lead by Small Nation who helps develop, cultivate and rejuvenate small towns and businesses. We are looking to learn from their success and bring this back to Jefferson. Stay tuned for more to come.

Filming of our Jefferson promotional video continued yesterday with our rescue district, fire department and local government. Thanks for everyone’s cooperation accommodating the videographers.

We are excited to announce that the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce Team Task Force for economic development has contracted with a professional videography company to make a promotional video all about Jefferson and all that our area has to offer. We will be filming various sites and activities including sports programs, retail establishments, festivals, our local government, safety services and more. Filming will begin this Thursday June 16th and is expected to conclude after our Christmas parade in December. Once completed the video will be available on line with links posted to the Chamber and Village web sites.

We are very proud to announce that Makin JoMark is opening a retail location in the heart of Jefferson, Ohio! All merchandise is new with tags! Quality items at an affordable price. We have clothing, shoes, halloween costumes, Halloween decor, home decor, makeup, electronics, costume jewelry, and so much more!

Our location is 73 N Chestnut St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047 (in the plaza with J R Hofstetter Family Jeweler). We are opening the doors to the public on September 1st. Our hours will be Monday to Saturday from 10a to 7p.

On October 1, 2020 we will be hosting a Grand Opening event!

The Depot is in constant improvement! Pay a visit and watch as they make history for us all to see

Looking for a fun "destination tour"? It's right in our backyard! Jefferson Depot Village invites you to be their guest to travel back to the 1800's. Both adults and kids can enjoy this trip into history at 147 E. Jefferson Street--Monday and Thursday from 10AM-4PM, and Saturday & Sunday, 1-4PM. Admission is $10 per person, while an entire family can tour for $25.

Spider Web clothes pantry is now located at 266 East Erie St. There will be a "soft opening" starting this week and they will now be open on Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - noon.

The Ashtabula County Economy is improving at a steady pace!

Our office reported this morning the Property Transfer of the Ashtabula Towne Square from Sure Fire Group, LLC to Ashtabula Mall Realty Holding, LLC a firm based in Great Neck, New York. As many know, Mr. Ken Kister has been part of the strong leadership rebounding the mall, making it a tremendous community asset and stable property, and we are grateful to him for that. We welcome the new owners and look forward to more investment in the future!

The property transferred for Real Estate value at $10,250,000. This is just real taxable property, not personal or other exchanged value. The conveyance transfer tax was roughly $41,000.
