Not something you see often here in France. These are all candles, lit by the wine growers to try and save their harvests of grapes this year. After a glorious few weeks, we are currently going through a few nights of heavy frosts and temperatures down to -5. A beautiful sight but keep your fingers crossed if you like your 🍷🍾🥂as it will be touch and go whether the grapes make it 🥺

For anyone wondering "Where exactly is this incredible part of the Dordogne that people keep calling the 'Périgord Noir'?" 🇫🇷🥖🧀🥐🍷🦆 😋

Well...here is a map especially for you 🥰😘 (south eastern quarter of the map coloured in grey below).

The Périgord Noir stretches from Hautefort at its most northern tip to Villefranche-du-Périgord at its southernmost point where we meet the borders with Lot and Lot-et-Garonne, then across to Le Bugue/Limeuil to the west and then eastwards where we meet the border with Lot again 😍
