The corn 🌽 in the fields around Crooked Elm has been successfully harvested. Farmer Brent reports that it was a fantastic year thanks to the recent addition of some much needed irrigation. It sure does change the landscape having the corn gone.

Two years ago tomorrow, on Juergen’s birthday, we officially listed Crooked Elm for a short term rental option after more than a year of extensive renovations. Our very first clients stayed over Labor Day weekend and we were never more nervous than we were leading up to and during their stay. Since then we’ve welcomed many guests to our little house, each of them raving about the beauty of the property. I wouldn’t change one single thing about the decision to purchase the property and remodel the little house. It has been an incredibly rewarding, fun journey with one of my favorite people who celebrates his 69th birthday tomorrow. I took this picture this evening as we were preparing for returning guests to arrive tomorrow afternoon. There’s always something beautiful to see at Crooked Elm. 💕
