Question: Which Disney hotels do I book over and over again, and why? Here you go...
1.) Contemporary Resort - this one has a LOT going for it. Number 1: location, location, location. It's not only located ON the monorail, but the monorail runs right through it! Not only that, but there is a walking path to the entrance to the Magic Kingdom right outside, and you can watch the fireworks without the crowds from the walkway between the hotel's two towers. Add a touch of classic midcentury modernism and a fun Incredibles theme, and I can see why this hotel is such a hit - especially for families with little ones where a mid-day nap after a morning at Magic Kingdom sounds pretty perfect.
2.) Pop Century - for similar reasons, Pop Century boasts a value+ level price point with the convenience of its location right on the Skyliner. Looking for a value level resort with recently refreshed rooms, a fun theme, and easy transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios? Pop Century might be the hotel for you! (I'd also recommend Yacht and Beach Club if you want location plus an amazing pool).
3.) Grand Californian Hotel & Spa - Headed to Disneyland instead of Florida? The Grand Californian has been my most popular Disneyland Resort hotel. This one offers the ultimate in high class finishes, a relaxing yet upscale atmosphere, fun thematic touches, and entrances directly into California Adventure and Downtown Disney. On my recent Disneyland trip, I timed myself walking from the Disneyland gates to the lobby at the Grand Californian and it took me less than 5 minutes at the end of the night. I got to ride TRON for the first time last month and loved it. I’d call it a mashup of Hagrid’s motorbike/Guardians Cosmic Rewind with a little Space Mountain thrown in there. Super fun, but does go by quickly! If you are a thrill seeker, ask if you can sit in the front row. There’s a separate line for that, but wasn’t much longer when I went. And the experience (esp the launch and the outdoor part) is sooo cool. #mousemagiccasey #magickingdom #mousemagictravel #tron #trontips #disneythrill #wdw
These beautiful mosaics can be found on the walkway from the Riviera Resort to the Skyliner station. Such a beautiful little spot. Have you ever considered making the Fireworks Dessert Parties at Magic Kingdom part of your trip? If seeing the fireworks are high on your priority list, it's a great way to have the perfect viewing location without the stress of staking out a spot hours in advance. We did the Dessert After Party on our most recent trip, which meant we could do rides (hello, People Mover!) right up to 15 minutes before the show started, watch fireworks, then relax with dessert AND drinks (including alcohol for the grownups) while the crowd from fireworks cleared the park.
