The best time to spot birds is early morning as they are generally more active during the cooler hours of the day....Many species are approachable for photography but remember to approach slowly and avoid sudden movements and loud noise.
Water birds and waders respond to tide movement a low tide means more food will be available but as the tide comes in the bird's move closer to observation points....

Be careful with binoculars and cameras near sensitive areas such as the government buildings and airport.

As a tour operator we feel strongly we should contribute something to the local community and we do this primarily through helping fund the building of facilities and equipping of the schools in the Gambia.

Gambia is a very beautiful country but also safe and pleasant to visit. The people are kind, friendly and welcoming. The president has much improved safety and travelling conditions such as roads. Everywhere you will see police and military checkpoints ensuring everyone stays safe.

Lamin is the manager of Pirang Shrimp Farm Birding Tour's the Gambia, It's One of the Gambian birdwatching center, the site is famous for birdwatching and it has been visited by lots of tourists.(Pirang Shrimp Farm)
Lamin is an experience bird guide for several years.
He grew up in the community of Pirang learn the trade in the area and his is intend to use his experience and knowledge to the people who are interested in bird - watching activities, Eco- tourism and participate in the tourism/hospitality sector of the country.
