When Hurricane Idalia visited and wreaked havoc with properties in YanKeetown our beautiful house in Crystal River was saved except for flooding in basement which required repair and was up and running in three weeks.

It’s that time of year, folks. If you caught ‘em, we want ‘em, and we’ll even throw in a $50 bounty! Our researchers are looking to work with you to sample the reproductive organs of harvested cobia. When you donate a harvested cobia, you get a $50 reward and help our researchers collect valuable information by sampling harvested cobia’s reproductive organs to determine if and where they spawn along Florida’s coasts.

If you harvest a cobia between now and the end of September, please call to arrange for a biologist to meet you for pickup and get a $50 reward:

This data is being collected as part of a three-year project to better understand the reproductive habits off Florida’s coast.
