We’re installing probably our biggest net feature to date this week! Our client wanted to create a huge hammock / hangout space in the double height space over the foyer of their house, and we said we’re in! 😎 To handle the loads, we designed & fabricated a stout steel perimeter that will self support against the significant inward pull of the net when occupied (so when someone jumps into the net it won’t deform the walls!). Eye rings are welded around the entire perimeter, through which a cable will be run to support a double layer of netting. We designed the steel perimeter in 3 sections that bolt together, so that it could be installed tight into the space without destroying walls, and for ease of installation! Can’t wait to see how cool this space is with the net installed!

The latest and greatest addition to our Black Hawk project! Our client had us back to build this cozy little net loft in the uppermost gable of the cabin. Accessed from the “game room” loft from a custom steel ladder, the net is perched 17ft above the main floor, overhanging a double height space. We designed in a hinged flap in the corner of the net so that a “wine elevator” could easily bring up the essentials from below 🍷🍷.

Have you ever seen a river rock abacus?? We made this one at our client’s request for the Fort David Playhouse - such a fun idea! Definitely burned through some bits drilling out all the rocks. We hammered in some snugly-fit pieces of pvc pipe inside the rock holes, so they would have a smooth sliding action instead of rock grinding across metal. Abacus scholars please do not comment - I don’t think this is a regulation abacus 😬. Got any out-there ideas for a unique play feature on a treehouse / playhouse??

Today I got to visit this beauty we built back in 2019 (The Evergreen Treehouse), to replace a skylight which broke in a recent windstorm when a large branch came down on it. I absolutely love visiting old builds! It’s so great to check in on how all of the details are holding up, see how the trees have reacted to the anchor hardware, and hear how families have been using it. Warms my heart 😊.

Final photos of the cold plunge surround we built in Boulder, with integrated speakers, under lighting, and storage compartments. Can’t get enough of this gorgeous pre-finished Accoya from 😮💨. Looking so classy!

The guys are loaded up to roll out next week for Carbondale! We’ll begin installing the Fort David playhouse project we’ve been prefabricating at our shop for a while now. Very excited for this fun little playhouse! One feature it will include which is a new one for us: a custom river rock abacus 🧮 (surprised there was an emoji for that- thanks apple🤝🏻).

Has your kid (or you) ever wanted to be a bear? Now they can! We just built these “bear cave” features for at the new Thorne Nature Experience in Lafayette. They’ll have a pea gravel floor, ready for you to crawl right in and set up to hibernate for the winter!

We are building a very tricked-out surround for a cold plunge in Boulder, in collaboration with the incredible . This little deck will have integrated speakers, integrated under-glow lighting on the bench and perimeter, four operable lids (one for the cold plunge, three for storage compartments), and be clad in stunning ikigai accoya from . Incredible attention to detailing in the design by , and ex*****on in the build by and 👌🏻

The Wapiti clubhouse interior. This little house was designed to be intentionally hard to get into to give it more of a unique fort feeling. Visitors must climb the ladder through a trap door in the floor to get in. The room is insulated, heated, and fully lit / electrified. On one wall is a custom maple built-in bench with storage for all the sleepover supplies. If you ask me, I’m sleeping up in the net loft!
