A new week a new team member

Our travel family is getting bigger. We have added another team member, this time based in Boston, USA.

Please welcome Amy to the team! loves to travel and explore new places with her husband and two boys (7 and 4 years old). She enjoys planning and going on family friendly holidays which keep her two active boys busy. Amy grew up in Hong Kong so had the opportunity to explore lots of countries in Asia. When she’s not chasing her boys around, you can find Amy planning her next adventure to plan, whether it’s a staycation or further afield.

In no time at all Amy has already started booking trips and I can’t wait to see what else is next!

Travelling solo?

My client has always wanted to go to South America, but was nervous to go on her own and asked me for help. I LOVE South America and spent 4 months travelling around it back in the day, so I was able to help her pick a country. She decided on Bolivia and so I got to work, booking her a trip of a lifetime.

She’s now back and very kindly sent me a few photos and a lovely review. This is what I love about my job! I like to think of myself as a dream maker…

It’s past midnight, I’m flying tomorrow morning and I haven’t finished packing

Are you like that too? I’m almost done so thought I’d share my top 5 travel make up essentials. I don’t leave home without them. That’s not strictly true, I’ve been known to forget but I always buy them if I’ve forgotten to pack them.. which if I’m honest happens a lot.

Here are my holy grail items:

💋 Lisa Eldridge’s Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint - my favourite foundation type product. It makes my skin look better without being cakey or makeupy
💋 to tame the hair, especially now that it’s long but not quite long enough to tie back without the strays
💋 sunscreen - I never leave home without it on my face and with Ultra Violette’s spray bottle I can reapply throughout the day
💋 blush, so portable and lush
💋 Clinique’s high impact mascara, a tubing mascara like no other
💋 Clinique again, this time their black honey lip balm. Lisa has brought out a new lip balm range that I’m dying to try

Meet Tanya

This is the best part of my work, I love working with amazing people. I am beyond excited to introduce another new member of the travel team.

Tanya is in her 50s and fabulous 💃 she believes that it’s never too late to start over and this gym girlie 🏋️‍♀️ and travel lover has joined the travel team and become an independent travel agent helping others explore the world.

And if that wasn’t enough, her love for coffee led her to the exciting world of converted horse boxes. She’s only just gone and bought a horse box and she is renovating her first one! 🤩

Meet Lucy, she is a gemmologist & jeweller, who adores ‘holidaying’!

Whether sourcing gems or discovering new beaches, Lucy is always thinking about the next destination. Since launching 3 months ago, her travel business has now taken off, not only does she love finding new hotels, booking holidays but she loves the helping others reap the same benefits as she has.

Lucy has stormed ahead and reached a key milestone in her business by helping others earn and save from the travel they were doing already or by booking for others.

4️⃣ holiday kit. I have a particular obsession with Lisa and her make up range. All my lipsticks are hers. I have her foundation, make up setting spray, all her make up bags… I mean the list just goes on.. I am an OG diehard fan, so am not in any way biased.

This is why I do what I do

I received a lovely testimonial from a client who’s just back from a trip of a lifetime in Zanzibar. Here’s what she wrote..

“To celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, my husband and I wanted to plan a memorable trip somewhere we could enjoy both a relaxing beach stay and also explore the history of the country. We had been discussing a variety of different options when I mentioned it to Rox. She took this on board before coming up with the suggestion of Zanzibar. Having spent time in Africa as a child and also visiting South Africa for our honeymoon, this really appealed to us both. It’s a special day today…

The big 5-0 for someone very special…

Nope it’s not me, it’s the Sydney Opera House…

Arguably the most iconic manmade landmark in Sydney, the Sydney Opera House has hosted some of the world's most famous musical acts, and has been a stage for countless moments in history.

WIth a royal opening on 20 October 1973 by Queen Elizabeth II, the Sydney Opera House has been part of Sydney’s story ever since.

She is the perfect backdrop for political expression and has hosted many US presidents, the Pope and political heavyweights such as Nelson Mandela, who visited shortly after being freed in 1990.

I was there when Crowded House performed for the very last time in 1996. Whilst I know my kids will say “who?”. I look back at those photos, try and find myself amongst the crowd on the stairs and with a hint of nostalgia, I know that I was there.

Sydney is in full celebration of her and this is mine.. thanks for the memories… you have been great…
