But hey, we’re looking for future locations. It’s just a hang. We’re not learning. We’re just taking it over and doing fun stuff teens like to do. Let me know if you’d like to host.

I had the honor of being asked to speak to at the NHS induction ceremony a couple of weeks ago. Members are selected by a faculty council based on four pillars: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

In my speech I highlighted some of the people in our community who exemplify those same characteristics. How quietly the people who go the extra mile operate all around us. I told them that their community is here for them, and if they want our guidance all they have to do is ask. That all of us want the best for them, whether they know us or not. And I told them they give us hope for the future. Hope y’all don’t mind me speaking for all of us.

If you have a skill, a talent, a hobby, or any offering you would like to make available for Marfa kids, let me know. Go Shorthorns! 💜

What an honor to be part of making Jan and Cooper’s destination wedding happen here in Marfa. These two beauties met as interns at Chinati in 2017. I had the pleasure of seeing the beginning of their love blossom and now flower in this joyful celebration. I got to know and love their families and friends this weekend. Good people bring good people. Congrats to all.

Howdy partners, and 🌈 Happy Pride Month! I’ve got a handful of Pride flags that I would love to deliver to local businesses that will display them. I’m prioritizing businesses on San Antonio and Highland. It’s important we show that Marfa is a safe place to be Queer. Especially for the youngins. Holler @ me if you want one.

This year there aren’t any official events scheduled for June, but word on the street is that there might be some ways to celebrate throughout the month. Hopefully we’ll do something a little bigger in September. After all, every month is Pride month.

Thank you Open Road Floral for donating flowers for the Marfa ISD prom! This year’s theme was 🌹Masquerade🪭
The prom committee requested red and white flowers, which parent volunteers helped arrange. It takes a village, people!

Happy 10 Years a Texan, Phil Boyd!

Back in 2013 Phil was at a crossroads, trying to figure out what to do next. New York? LA? He could have gone anywhere and done amazing things, but I got drunk and brave enough to tell him to move here, you idiot. A couple months later he pulled up in a U-Haul and moved all his DVDs into my house in Austin. I’m so glad he did!

Whew! Thanks for taking a leap on me, Peej. Texas is better with you in it.
