As all good things must come to an end, so has our Christmas and New Year’s vacation. We left Ft. Lauderdale this morning and are safely home now. A huge thank you to some amazing people who made coming home easier: EJ Enterprises for keeping our driveway clear, Angie Borgford borgfordangie at AB Cleaning and Care for giving us a sparkling clean house to return to, and Connor and Lexus Swan for looking after everything else.

Since the snowy North doesn’t have quite the same views at the moment, I’ll wrap up our vacation posts with some of the stunning sights we got to enjoy on our trip. ✨

Today marks the end of our 20-day Caribbean adventure aboard the Enchanted Princess. Can you believe it? The trip was incredible, but when Florida feels chilly at 9°C, you know it’s time to head home (or not just yet)!

We wrapped up with a leisurely breakfast, packed up the last of our things, and disembarked around 9 AM. After breezing through luggage claim and immigration, we headed to our next stop… but not home just yet!

We’re spending a few more days in sunny Fort Lauderdale before the final leg of our journey. Currently, we’re checking out the newly renovated Hilton Garden Inn at Dania Pointe. While we couldn’t check in right away (3 PM check-in!), we were able to store our luggage and explore the area. Lots of shopping, dining options, and even a movie theater nearby! While we skipped the pool today (not quite the right weather), it’s a great spot for some relaxation.

So here’s to more adventure before we officially close out the trip!

So what do you do when you’ve been to a port multiple times? Sometimes we opt to stay on the ship and enjoy it but this time for our stop in St. Thomas we decided to try a walking food tour to experience something different. That’s part of the beauty of cruising you have options so if you’ve been somewhere before you can stay on the ship, try something new or repeat an experience you enjoyed. The possibilities are endless and the choice is yours to make it the vacation you want.

Travel plans may not always unfold as expected, but that's what makes the journey exciting. Today, on the breathtakingly beautiful island of Dominica, several excursions were cancelled due to weather conditions, ours wasn't one of them, but we decided to adapt and make the most of our day. Some of our crew took a taxi, costing $25 per person, and embarked on an adventure. Our driver took us on a thrilling tour of Trafalgar Falls, sulphur springs, a stunning botanical garden, and ended with a spectacular view of Roseau. Although it wasn't our original plan, it turned out to be a fantastic day filled with unforgettable experiences.

Yesterday we were able to participate in the New Liskeard Santa Clause parade. It had a great turnout I hear there were 140 floats which is great for a town of less than 10,000. We did up 500 candy boxes but underestimated the turnout. So if you didn’t get one we’re sorry.
