The 3-bedroom, 3-bath vacation rental is bursting with family-friendly entertainment, Our labor of love
The story of Sugar Hill starts in June of 2016. Amy and I spent our anniversary in the Mohican area and fell in love with everything in the area from the park to family fun including canoeing and mountain biking to water sports. We spent a year looking for vacant land never finding the right par

cel. We had almost given up hope but decided to drive by the area we had stayed near the year earlier. as we drove down Wilson road we passed a realtor putting out a sign for vacant land. we stopped and immediately fell in love with the property. A year later we broke ground on what would become Sugar Hill. With the help of Brian Neal,Amy and I tirelessly worked to build this home. We have had a hand in every facet of construction with most construction being done by myself, Amy, and Brian. When you look at the finishes, all the siding, roofing, interior paneling and behind the scenes including plumbing and electrical, they have all been done by us. Many lessons were learned and much sweat and blood given to the property, but nothing worth doing comes easy. As we look at the nearly finished product both Amy and I are pleased to offer Sugar Hill for your next getaway. Whether it be an escape, a girls weekend, college reunion or family vacation, Amy and I look forward to providing you with the perfect location to relax and rejuvenate. Come home to Sugar Hill

MOHICAN EXPERT HIKERS: 🥾
There have been many inquiries as to when we are going to start the series hikes back up. We will have to do things differently and out of order, due to those big swirly breezes we had last month. We will continue with the hikes in August! AUGUST 13TH at 9 AM will be the first day back at it. The second August Hike is the 20th. We had it organized and ready to go on Facebook previously, but for now we will go back to watching the page the week of, like we did before to find out the hiking info for that Saturday. Once all our trails are opened back up we can get them back online and organized! :) We are glad to get back out there and to see you all!

(Attached is a screenshot of our new August schedule for these hikes)

We were excited to hear Governor Mike DeWine’s vision for our State Parks in his State of the State yesterday:

“We want our Ohio state parks to be the best state parks in the country. The promise of grand views, exciting exploration, and the opportunity to discover your next adventure has drawn people to Ohio State Parks in record numbers over the last few years.”

Moving Forward:
📍 We will invest in our state parks to give Ohioans and visitors the best state parks system in the country.
📍 We will make our state parks more accessible, so that more people can enjoy them, because Ohioans need affordable, close-to-home places where they can get fresh air and exercise, spend quality time with their families, and relax.
📍We will invest in trails and trail signage.
📍We will invest to ensure our cabins and lodges are clean and maintained so that when people stay there, they are comfortable.
📍We will invest to repair boat ramps, pave roads and parking lots, and fix bathrooms.

Thank you for your continued support!

Today we celebrate "National Johnny Appleseed Day" and honor one of America's best loved folk heroes who left a lasting legacy in Ohio State Parks in the early days of Ohio's statehood. Born in 1774, John Chapman, better known as "Johnny Appleseed" traveled extensively in areas that would later be added to our state park system. He walked the trails of Ohio wilderness straight into legend, planting apple trees along the way. Johnny Appleseed was inducted into the ODNR Hall of Fame for devoting his life to safeguarding the beauty of Ohio’s natural landscape for past, present, and future generations. Please visit your local library to learn more about this historic legend who so profoundly contributed to improving the food supply and positively impacting the Ohio landscape.
