Pantone colour for 2021 is ULTIMATE GRAY and ILLUMINATING YELLOW. Great combo. It is the yellow that I fined dynamic. More yellow cars, handbags and shoes. At the queue at Internal Affairs I saw yellow bags and shoes. More fun than navy blue!

I have completed the NLP Life Coaching course at the SCHOOL OF LIFE. 14 non-stop days at their premises in Centurion. I now need to complete the practical assignment to qualify. Well organised with outstanding lectures. Franco Leibrandt and Janet Booysen. I am now working hard to present my final assignment. Thank you to those who volunteered.

Once again, at the very end of the cupboard, I found a bottle of Silkbush Mountain Vineyards Pinotage 2009.
What a bright tasting wine. It had the smooth velvet of an old wine but the flavour of cherries was fresh and sparkling on the tongue. Great to enjoy with a chocolate flavoured with chilli.

Business in Olifantsvlei. South, south of Jozi. THE REAL AFRICA! We were looking for a sliding door in wood and glass. We arrived at a builders yard for second hand doors, windows and general building material plus many more bits, pieces and items of interest. Each section belonged to a separate trader and they are busy... hard negotiations... all is for sale. Wonderful outing, exciting to see a different world.

Delicious surprise at the back back part of my wine cupboard. Anatu Family Blend 2010. Grenache 55% and Shiraz 45%. Old and rich. Smooth, medium bodied and smothered in ripe red berries. Great joy to drink paired with Lyndt Dark orange chocolate.

Remembering Toni Morrison.
The literary world and beyond are mourning the passing of Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison, who died on August 5. Morrison’s impact is almost immeasurable. Her many works, such as Beloved, The Bluest Eye, and Jazz, centered Black women in her beautiful and lyrical storytelling and gave voice and visibility to a hitherto unseen slice of American life. A granddaughter of slaves and a single mother of two, she’d go on to become the first Black woman to receive the Pulitzer for fiction, amassing many more accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Her work is undoubtedly a permanent piece of the literary canon, and there are simply not enough words to describe how much Toni Morrison’s work and very existence in this world has meant to so many of us. We are so sad about her death but so grateful for her life. (by Audible)

I read Beloved endlessly ... so hard to grasp such detail and emotion. However it created an understanding of pain and sorrow and most of all survival.

Full Volume Adventure tour of Johannesburg. The visitors loved Liliesleaf Farm & Museum. Great information and a clear insight into the historical events. Soweto was dynamic with a visit to Mandela Family Museum, Hecktor Pieterson Memorial Museum and Regina Mundi the great Roman Catholic Cathedral with stained glass widows around the room and a spray of bullet holes to remind us of the freedom fighters and the active police.

This bottle of Christina Shiraz 2013 was a LUCK. This is a premium range of wines that gets better and better. It was smooth and rich. Layered and opulent. Thank you Van Loveren!

This Seed Loaf recipe was given to me in 1983 by Zillah from Cape Town and it forms the basics of my culinary offering. Especially good with cheeses and sprouts. Good to slice and freeze. Nutritional value that is important for Vegans. Stone Ground flour is best. Honey instead of sugar and Oat bran is the tastiest. This forms part of a Samp & Soufflé Culinary adventure.

Alfalfa Sprouts. Delicious with a great mouth feel. Easy to grow. Soak overnight. Rinse every morning and evening. The sprouts grow in 5 days and are ready when they start showing green. Pour the rinsing water on pot plants and vegetables. The results of the extra nutritious will show quickly. Sprouts work best on salads and sandwiches. Use to decorate all dishes for an interesting texture and a fresh green taste.

Great experience to deal with the public and much to my surprised the cheese I sold the most ... Gorgonzola - good old smelly cheese. Many interesting exhibitors especially Palestinian pastry packets of delicious fillings. Come and join us for a foodie Saturday!

The Johannesburg Challah Bake.

What an admirable function for an active community. This is a world wide project that highlights the focus on participation of mothers and daughters, sisters, moms and friends.
Loud Israeli music very bright lighting and well equipped containers with all the ingredients needed to make a Shabbas Challah.
I brought the 'dough' home to rise overnight and baked it early this morning.
