Our family purchased the 50 acre property located on Long Creek in 2011 because of our love for the outdoors. We had a passion for nature and the simple life, and wanted the opportunity to raise our family in the country. The property has allowed us to raise our own food, enjoy the property for leisure, build wildlife/waterfowl habitat, and operate a kayak business on-site. Whether you are looking
for a quiet place to unwind, a spot to stay while on your way through our area, or looking for an opportunity to be active in the outdoors, Long Creek X offers a variety of experiences for everyone! About the property:
This newly built treehouse is perfect for those looking for an unforgettable getaway from the city or a memorable stop on any journey. An entirely off-grid rental, the treehouse provides guests a unique experience with more than just the basic amenities. The rental is located near Dresden, Ontario and can accommodate up to four guests. The treehouse has a bunk with a queen-sized bed on the bottom and double bed on the top. All linens and towels provided. It also includes a sitting area with an extendable table and ample space for having a meal or enjoying a board game or two. The treehouse is insulated for year round comfort and includes an indoor wood-burning stove. The treehouse is raised 12 feet off the ground, allowing guests wonderful views from the porch of the surrounding woodland as well as the large on-site pond. A picnic table, fire pit and camping chairs are just steps away from the treehouse. Additionally, guests are able to enjoy the use of three kayaks in the pond and use the fishing rods provided to catch and release bluegills, crappies or catfish. In winter months, guests can bring skates and enjoy the ultimate Canadian experience of skating and pond hockey (weather conditions permitting). Guests can also explore 2 km of trails throughout the property where you can expect to see wildlife, such as deer, turkey, and ducks, near the treehouse and throughout the forest. Long Creek X is also home to an active apiary, where bees can be found making honey during the warmer months. In addition, the forest is also home to an abundance of maple trees, many of which are tapped for sap in late winter and made into maple syrup on-site. Although the rental does not have electricity, there are battery operated lights in both the treehouse and the outhouse. Bottled water for drinking is provided. Battery operated pumps supply treated running water to the treehouse for handwashing and dish-cleaning. The nearby outhouse, with a compost toilet, has running water for handwashing. The kitchenette comes with dishes, pots, a frying pan, griddle, and cutlery. It is also stocked with basic amenities like instant coffee, tea, sugar, salt, and pepper. A cooler is provided to keep food cool. The treehouse is equipped with a barbeque and camping stove for cooking. Alternatively, guests can choose to cook over the firepit with the outdoor grill or campfire fork/cooking tools provided. Campfire wood is provided free of charge. A variety of board games, books, cards, and puzzle books have been provided for guests to enjoy. Free on-site parking is provided. Wagons are provided to transport belongings for the short walk from the parking spot to the treehouse. Kayaks are available for rent to use in the nearby Sydenham River or other local waterways. Guests can also bring their own kayaks and can be dropped off/picked up at an agreed upon nearby location for a fee. Guests will have everything they need and more for a comfortable and enjoyable stay! Local amenities and attractions:
