I’m loving that 8 day Sitka, Hubbard & Ketchikan sailing sounds fabulous! Sitka was my favorite port when I cruised Alaska a couple years ago.

✨LIGHTNING LANE PREMIER PASS ✨

Disney parks will begin piloting a new “premium offering” for their line skipping system: Lightning Lane Premier Pass at the end of October 2024.

With Lightning Lane Premier Pass (LLPP), guests WILL NOT need to select a time they wish to ride/attend attractions.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be offered in very limited quantities and will give guests a one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane in the theme park they are visiting that day. This includes attractions included in both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass.

Disney World:
✨Debuts October 30th, available to guests ONLY AT Disney Deluxe/Villa/DVC hotels
✨ Can be purchased up to 7 days prior
✨ Price is for one park and one LL per ride per day
✨ Prices will vary by date and theme park:

🌳 Animal Kingdom: $129-$199+tax pp
🪩 EPCOT: $169-$249+tax pp
🎬 Hollywood Studios: $269-$349+tax pp
🏰 Magic Kingdom: $329-$449+tax pp

Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort

Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, HeartSong is a stunning rustic and chic resort inspired by the beauty of the Smokies.

With a variety of rooms and suites you’ll find yourself in very comfortable accommodations in a luxurious yet family friendly setting.

A day in the life of a roadtripper (7/31/23).

9am - Arrive Arches National Park. No major hiking plans just a leisurely drive and easy walks to see iconic landscapes. This park is super underrated and very chill. You must however have a reservation for timed entry.

11:45am - Back on the road and headed to Colorado

2:30pm - Arrive at Iron Mountain Hot Springs for some much needed relaxation. This is a therapeutic spa in the mountains with 16 geothermal mineral pools ranging from 98° to 108° plus a freshwater pool and a jetted hot tub. We booked a 3 hour pass in advance for the springs.

5:45pm - On the road again

6:30pm - Arrive in Vail for the evening. We had rented a little condo just outside Vail village and after unloading we walked over for dinner, shopping and site seeing. Let me tell you something, the elevation there is high and altitude sickness is real; over 8000 feet above sea level plus one glass of wine and my head felt drunk like swaying as we walked back to our rental lol. But Vail is charming and I’d love to go back!

9:30/10pm- Back at condo to do laundry and relax before bed. Being on the road for so long it’s good to book places where you can do a load of laundry. We were able to do this multiple times and didn’t have to pack so much.

Zion National Park is absolutely breathtaking. We hiked The Narrows and had the most spectacular hiking experience ever! If it’s not on your list it should be!

Side story: before leaving Zion we stopped for lunch and happened to meet the owner of Saint Honore Donuts! My daughter and I may have fangirled a bit lol; but damn her donuts are delicious!

July 24, 2023 will forever be one of my favorite and best days ever.

I love to travel, I love to read, I love Harry Potter (100% a Ravenclaw), I watch a good deal of TV and I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan!

Story time:
On this trip my family and I were in California for a week and one day we visited the Warner Brothers Studios and had an amazing guided tour. After lunch at Central Perk and a self-guided tour through an interactive museum we boarded a tram to take us to the actual fountain used in Friends. We had a nice conversation with the tram driver and on our way I saw Sookie’s house and wondered (out loud )where Lorelei’s house was. The driver asks me if I’m a GG fan to which I say the biggest and it’s been an amazing tour. She then asks who’s with you today and I happily said just my husband and my 12 year old daughter. We’re let off at the fountain and take a fun photo then I’m taking more pictures of the surrounding Stars Hollow buildings when a worker approaches me and says are you the GG fan just off the tram? A little hesitantly I say yes I love it. He says grab your family and follow me. His name is Jim and he’s been sent by the lovely tram driver to make our tour extra special. My heart begin pounding with wild excitement as we climbed into a 4 person golf cart and that began the surprise private tour of Stars Hollow! The details he knew were fascinating. I kept one hand on my phone recording and the other was tapping excitedly on my husbands leg. Jim drove us around and it ended with us walking up to see the infamous Gilmore Girl House! I still pinch myself thinking about how lucky we were that day! In Omnia Pararus!

Single rider lines are a great way to maximize your time at Universal Orlando. Perfect for solo travelers and even groups who either have individuals that want to do their own thing or don’t mind being split up - queue up together but will likely end up separated to ride.

And we have officially put Genie back in its bottle! Say hello to Disneys Lightning Lane Pass System!

It’s a blend of our beloved old FastPasses and the newer Genie+ system.

Currently you can purchase the pass through mid-August.

Then up to 7 days prior to ticket start you may select your first 3 rides/attractions for up to the length of your ticket start date (max 14 days). Once in the park and you’ve used your first three you may then select something new one at a time as they are available and repeat as you use them.

Pricing does vary by park and each park has a one or two rides not included that can be purchased separately.

Bottom line here is that we are back to being able to plan somewhat in advance and get additional passes without that silly time rule. And the planner in me screams with excitement!

We had an incredible time in Sedona, but our adventure continued in Las Vegas! We made a quick stop at the Grand Canyon's South Rim and were in awe of its beauty. Our daughter absolutely loved Vegas! We explored the strip, shopped, saw some very interesting interactions between guests and showgirls lol and discovered a unique attraction outside of the city. The heat was intense, but it didn't stop us from having a blast!

Day 6 we experienced the vibrant energy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we stayed at The Nativo Lodge, a one-of-a-kind hotel featuring artist rooms with stunning hand-painted murals.

Did you know that Albuquerque has been the filming location for popular TV shows like Breaking Bad and Stranger Things?

The city even gets snow and has a ski mountain, but during the summer, you can ride the up tram through beautiful Cibola National Forest and be met with breathtaking views at the top.

Before heading to Arizona, we spent a day exploring this fantastic city!

Day 5, we woke up in Amarillo, Texas at the tackiest, most hilariously over-the-top motel that screamed 'Texas tourist trap'!

Fueled by Whataburger burritos, we drove to New Mexico and encountered the worlds largest pistachio! We sampled insanely yummy pistachios in many flavors, wine-tasted, and savored pistachio ice cream at Pistachioland.

But White Sands National Park blew our minds with its ethereal beauty, and we sand-sledded in the sweltering 110° heat - pure madness!

After a night in Marceline we were on our way to Amarillo, Texas when our daughter saw a billboard for the Oz Museum. With no solid plan that day except driving we decided to check it out.

Wamego, Kansas is probably the cutest little village I’ve ever visited. They really lean into all things Wizard of Oz and we absolutely loved this spontaneous stop!
