The Epilogue book cafe.

It is a first book cafe in town and is located in the heart of Kalimpong,

Opened by an avid reader, a passionate bookman, an author and an enterpreneur Mr. Sandip Jain. All these years he had read and collected tonnes of books, magazines, comics etc. He wanted to share his treasure to us all. Thus, the idea of a book cafe was born.

Kim's Kitchen Kalimpong ~ (Takeaway and Home Delivery)

Pandemic has given wings to so many out there who wanted to start their own business. When most of the restaurants were inaccessible, there were many who prepared their best recipes at home and started delivering.

Kim's Kitchen Kalimpong ( ) is one of those amazing initiatives. Kimlung Yap started home business in July 2020 and we've been lucky to relish Chinese home cooked food since then. Mrs. Inchen Yap (Kimlung's mum) is the key person behind the delicious recipes. Kim learned to cook looking at both his parents who loved to feed people. He had a keen interest in how they could make boring vegetables look so nice after so much preparation.

They say everyone in the family loves to cook, therefore it's been a combined effort.

👉 Our favourite from the menu is Chicken Yamkiaomein, Chicken/ Pork Noodles Soup, Pork Combo Meal. Kids love the chicken wonton soup. The most ordered items are Chicken Bao and Ambrosial Chicken Platter.

Za Khang Authentic Bhutanese Restaurant, Kalimpong

Za Khang is probably the only restaurant in the country that only specialises in authentic Bhutanese cuisine. Za Khang in Bhutanese means a place that sells food.

Mr. and Mrs. Wangdi have been running the place with their long standing team of staff since its inception in May 2017.

Our favourite is the lunch buffet that is available only during the weekends at the moment.

The most ordered items are Langsha Juma (Beef Sausage), Phaksha Paa (Stewed Pork), Ema Datshi (Chilli with Cheese), Shakam Datshi (dried beef Datshi) and Jatsha Paa (Stewed Chicken). Children's favourite from the menu is Kewa Datshi (Potato with Cheese).

With enough seating of 36 indoors and 16 on the rooftop, the place is also open to group bookings and events.

We’ve shared this earlier on page and here’s yet again one of our favourite places, The Noodle House .noodlehouse They've got Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Malaysian food on their menu. Anyone who eats here comes back over and over again.

The place is run by Lalit Moktan who is the main chef and his wife Srijana Thapa. He has over 10 years of experience working as chef with big hotels like J.W. Marriott Jaipur, Marriott Hotel Bangalore, Swissotel Kolkata, Courtyard by Marriott in Gurgaon and he is now back home, started his own business and doing really well.

Some of our favourite dishes are:

She is a member of the Education Committee of the Orchid Specialist Group, World Conservation Union, Species Survival Commission. She lives and works in Kalimpong where she is building the Himalayan Institute of Natural History Art.

Laphing - Another must-try local snack at CafeKalimpong

Laphing is a spicy cold mung bean noodle dish from the Tibetan cuisine. A popular street food item around Nepal, Sikkim, Darjeeling and Kalimpong, it is prepared with red pepper chili sauce, garnished with coriander, Sichuan pepper, green onion sauce. Cafe Kalimpong

A trip to Kalimpong is incomplete without visiting Cafe Kalimpong. Just a km from the main town, with so much open space, local food, and overlooking the Kalimpong town, it’s a perfect place to spend time with your friends and family.

Started by siblings in 2017, Naveen Chettri brings in passion for cooking while Praveen .chemusiche who is also a professional photographer, manages marketing and social media.

Try their popular local dish - Ting Momo with Alu Dum (veg) or smoked pork or smoked chicken. Sel Roti and Alu Dum (veg) is recommended too. Do ask for Churpee Momo (made from local cheese) if it’s available.

Our favourite from the menu is pulled pork burger, sandwiches, carrot cakes and blueberry cheesecakes (eggless). Kids love the oreo shake and pizzas.
