I can't decide what I am more excited about - seeing my favorite parks and characters all decked out for Christmas or the cruise ship and beaches!

Doing a pre-cruise Disney World trip only adds to the fun. I always recommend flying out the day before embarkation to avoid travel issues before your cruise. If you are boarding at Port Canaveral, it is easy to sneak in a little visit to Walt Disney World. And if you use Disney Cruise Line transportation, you get an earlier port arrival time!

Happy 5 years to Rise of the Resistance!

Rise of the Resistance is a trackless attraction with an intricate and immersive theme, including an involved pre-show. You really feel like you are part of a movie as you wait for The Resistance to break you free from your capture by The First Order.

This ride can be found in Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios and Disneyland California. It opened on December 5, 2019, in Walt Disney World and shortly after in Disneyland. You can experience this popular attraction in either park via the standby line or by purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass.

We aren't Star Wars people, but we love this ride!

It's Gingerbread House Season!

Every year during the holiday season some of the Disney World Resorts build gingerbread structure displays. It is a lot of fun to resort hop to each of them (resort hopping is free for Disney World guests) and check them out. They smell amazing! Each is made with a different type of gingerbread and in a different theme.

The ingredients and special notes about each are found on signs by the structures and at most sites you can purchase a cookie made from the same recipe. At the Grand Floridian, the shop to buy treats is inside the actual gingerbread house! And while the chefs are building it you can sample shingles from the house!

I'm looking forward to seeing this year's versions in a few weeks - especially the new EPCOT Spaceship Earth Gingerbread sculpture and the addition of character themed trees to the Grand Floridian's Gingerbread House! 🎄
