Here are my best tips for spending 2 days at alton towers Make sure you download the alton towers app, this helps you with queue times which is invaluable! Make a plan of what rides you want to do arrive early as the queues are shorter, especially Smiler, Wicker Man and Nemesis. If you have small kids, there is plenty to do. The sealife aquarium is well worth a visit and CBeebies land is perfect for toddlers. However the queues are always quite long which is not ideal when you’ve got a 2 year old in tow, but they can go on rides such as the Congo river and runaway train. After a morning of thrill seeking, don’t forget to check out the grounds and gardens. They are stunning and could be a venue in their own right! We paid £400 for a family of four for 2 days at alton towers and a stay at the alton tower hotel. The rooms were comfortable, they put on evening entertainment and the breakfast buffet was perfect to get us ready for another day at the park. There are 6 different accommodations to choose form, including the splash landings hotel which is attached to the alton towers water park. On day 2 we arrived as it opened and only had to wait 10 minutes to get on Smiler. We managed to fit in oblivion, spinball whizzer and galactica in 2 hours. Don’t forget to head over to the battle galleons and squirt water at the boats, this was my Son’s personal favourite! 2 days is more than enough to fit everything in and alton towers still remains one of my favourite theme parks. #altontowers #altontowersresort #themepark #themeparks #uktravel #uktravelblogger #travelvlogger #boardingpassesready
I recently spent a day at @champneysspas Forsest Mere with friends. Our Spa day pass cost £99 with breakfast and lunch included. We hired bikes in the morning and then spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool, using the steam and sauna room and ending it with an aqua fit class. It’s probably one of my favourite spa days so far, head to the blog to find out more 🧖♀️ #spaday #spadays #spamonday #champneys #champneysforestmere #forestmere #hampshire #hampshirelife #spawithfriends #travelvlog #travelvlogger #boardingpassesready #travelblog

Without a doubt, every holiday I look in the estate agents window to check out local house prices, figure out it would be cheaper to sell our house back in the UK, buy a small villa with views of the sea and spend the rest of my days reading books and having a swim in the Mediterranean. Then I remember I have kids and a stupid job back home and it becomes a distant dream… Until next time Turkey, you’ve been amazing 🇹🇷 ☀️ #holidaystyle #turkey #turkeyvacation #turkeytravel #sunset #sunsetlovers #familyholiday #familyholidays #familyhotel #luxuryhotel #luxuryholiday #boardingpassesready #fethiye #akrafethiyetheresidence

It’s the added extras that get me. Want a pillow? That’s £68 per person, per night. Want a view that isn’t of the building site next door? That’s an extra £300…
You want an extra £52 each way so I can take some actual clothes with me on holiday!? #easyjet #cabinbag #stupidairlinefees #ididntneed27bikinisanyway
@theboxplymouth in Plymouth is a cutting-edge cultural and historical facility that serves as a museum, gallery, and archive all rolled into one. We popped here with the kids in the half term and I was so impressed with the whole concept. Even the kids spent a few hours in here without a single moan! Situated in the heart of Plymouth, England, this innovative space opened its doors to the public with the aim of preserving and showcasing the rich maritime history and heritage of the city and the broader region. The Box is renowned for its extensive collections that span fine art, naval history, and social history, offering a dynamic and immersive experience to visitors. With its striking contemporary architecture, The Box seamlessly integrates historical artifacts with modern technology, providing interactive and engaging exhibits. It stands as a testament to Plymouth’s past, present, and future, inviting locals and tourists alike to explore, learn, and be inspired by the stories and legacies contained within its walls. We loved it! ❤️
A well-known variety of blossom that blooms in winter is the Kawazu-zakura, which typically starts blooming in February, but in some warmer regions or during mild winters, it can start as early as January. These trees have deep pink blossoms and are a popular attraction, especially in the Kawazu town in the Izu Peninsula, where the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival is held annually.
Osaka is a large port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu. It’s known for its modern architecture, boisterous nightlife, and hearty street food. The 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle, which has undergone several restorations, is its main historical landmark. It’s surrounded by a moat and park with plum, peach, and cherry-blossom trees. The city is also a hub for traditional Japanese culture, exemplified through its various museums, theaters, and traditional puppet shows. Additionally, Osaka is famous for its vibrant Dōtonbori district, an area known for its extravagant neon lights, large illuminated signboards, and a diverse range of restaurants and bars.
Watching the sunset from the Umeda Sky Building. It is located in Osaka, Japan, and is a spectacular example of modern architectural design. This 173-meter tall structure consists of two 40-story towers that are connected at their uppermost floors by a striking circular observation platform known as the “Floating Garden Observatory.” This unique feature offers panoramic views of Osaka and beyond, making it a popular tourist attraction. The building’s futuristic design, characterized by its gleaming glass facade and sleek metallic framework, stands out in the city’s skyline. Completed in 1993, the Umeda Sky Building is not just an architectural marvel but also a hub for various commercial activities, housing offices, shops, and restaurants, thus integrating functionality with aesthetic brilliance.
My favourite part of Japan so far - Himeji. Himeji is a city renowned for its historical and cultural significance, located in the Hyōgo Prefecture of Japan. It is most famous for the Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the White Heron Castle due to its elegant, white façade. This castle is a prime example of Japanese castle architecture, dating back to the 14th century and showcasing remarkable preservation. Himeji also offers a rich cultural experience with its traditional gardens, such as Koko-en, and annual festivals, including the Himeji Yukata Festival and Himeji Castle Cherry Blossom Viewing Fair. The city is not just a hub for historical sightseeing but also blends modernity, with bustling shopping districts and local culinary delights, making it a compelling destination for both history enthusiasts and casual visitors 💚
A mini Statue of Liberty in Odaiba, Japan! We visited Odaiba today purely because of Joypolis for the kids, but it was a huge and pleasant surprise. Art aquariums, a stunning view of Tokyo from the sea, a huge mall and food area and the most wonderful sunsets. Our best day out yet 👌🏻
Kabukicho, often dubbed as Tokyo’s sleepless district, is a vibrant and bustling area located in the heart of Shinjuku. Renowned for its neon-lit landscape, this district offers an eclectic mix of entertainment options ranging from karaoke bars and themed cafes to more traditional theaters showcasing Kabuki performances. Despite its reputation as a red-light district, Kabukicho is also a cultural hub, rich in dining experiences that range from high-end sushi restaurants to casual izakayas, serving authentic Japanese cuisine. The streets here are a mosaic of modern Tokyo life, embodying the city’s unique blend of traditional charm and contemporary excitement. With its lively atmosphere and endless entertainment options, Kabukicho remains a must-visit destination for those seeking to experience the pulsating heart of Tokyo nightlife. One of the must see destinations at night is Omoide Yokocho, often translated as “Memory Lane”, is an alleyway tucked away from the bright lights. This narrow lane, with its vintage Showa-era atmosphere, is lined with tiny, traditional izakayas (Japanese pubs) and eateries, offering an authentic glimpse into Tokyo’s past. The wooden shanty-style buildings, closely packed together, create a cozy and intimate setting where visitors can enjoy a variety of Japanese comfort foods, including yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), ramen, and other local specialties, often accompanied by a cold beer or sake.
