Casa Fagiolina One of Sally's holiday homes, Casa Fagiolina is in the olive groves of the Sabina area near Rome. Sleeps 4. Discover authentic Italy! www.casafagiolina.com

Situated 45km to the north of Rome in the village of Canneto, this property is ideal for anyone wanting to visit Rome but also the smaller towns and villages in the countryside. It is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and has wonderful open views of the olive groves all around. Make yourselves at home, take country walks, relax in the garden or on the terrace. Plenty of local information is p

rovided for you to explore both in Rome and locally. The apartment is on the first floor of a detached property , surrounded by a garden and its own olive trees - you'll find my own olive oil in the kitchen for your use! Canneto has one of the oldest and largest olive trees in Italy , in fact. I suggest you take the train to go into Rome. This is 'commuter belt' so they leave regularly from the station which is a 15 minute drive away. Guests love to return to this comfortable haven in the countryside after a busy day sightseeing. The apartment has its own entrance by an external staircase and private, enclosed parking. You have full use of the garden which surrounds the property, sun loungers and garden furniture; your own private terrace has a relaxing area as well as a dining area. It is a 'home from home' in that it is comfortably furnished, has a superbly equipped kitchen (from the Nespresso coffee machine to the Kenwood food processor) and I pay attention to the little details which make a difference. You'll find a bottle of complimentry wine chilling in the fridge on arrival - or help yourself to the tea and coffee in the cupboard. There are even candles for you to create a romantic atmosphere. Look up my website for more details.

Since I found a new passion for cycling after 2020’s lockdown, Casa Fagiolina has new gates and a developing cycling theme, as the Sabina area is a favourite with cyclists. To date, my neighbours and visitors have been the only ones to admire them but now they are famous! 🤣My Mum decided to send this photo to the UK magazine Take a Break! Thanks,Beryl Reynolds🤣🚴‍♀️

As much as sometimes we may want Rome to be emptier so that we can take better photos, this drone footage shows an empty, saddened Rome. Roll on recovery.

Drone footage shows the Italian capital eerily deserted, more beautiful than ever.

Thank you to those who had booked Casa Fagiolina and have postponed for a future date. Generally, guests like to go to Rome for a day during their stay, so I thought this may be of interest.

This is only the second time I have seen the Sabina with a thick white coat. Bellissimo.... for a day!

You can mix shopping with history next time you're in Rome, a new department store houses an ancient aquaduct.

Interesting!

Interesting!

Ice cream makers are using extra virgin olive oil as a substitute for fats traditionally used in gelato, and the results are excellent.
