Blue Dream Wildlife River Tours is providing tours to the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge located close to Bandon. The boat tours will be in the Coquille River estuary that borders the marsh.

Wildlife can be seen year-round at Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, from migrating shorebirds to resident songbirds, land mammals to marine mammals, and other amphibious life, there's something for everyone. On a recent trip, a pair of White-tailed Kite birds were observed. They are very unique and fascinating to watch, they fly very similar to a kite. They are just one of many unique species of wildlife in the Coquille River. The boat can even pull up to the dock in Bandon for lunch.

*Lion’s Mane Jelly (Cyanea capillata)
The lion’s mane jelly is the largest sea jelly among the over 200 species that make up the class of the true jellies, Scyphozoa. The common name, lion’s mane, describes the perceived resemblance of the tentacles and their typical color to that of a lion’s mane. Captain Bluebird and guest saw a large Lion's Mane Jelly at Coquille River Estuary, in the river that borders the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. The tide water brings these creatures from the Pacific Ocean into the estuaries along the coast.

Blue Dream Wildlife River Tours has been out on the water all summer long. The egrets have migrated from the Oregon Coast to inland rivers, they are a beautiful species and very photogenic.
Many wildlife species were observed, including some invasive species, such as the American Bullfrog. Which can be seen just about everywhere in Oregon. We have been taking the public and youth to catch/remove invasive smallmouth bass in the Umpqua River. The smallmouth bass are an invasive species that prey on native salmon smolts and lamprey, so removing the smallmouth bass help support the native population.
The public has been enjoying trips on the boat and exploring local rivers. The weather has been perfect for wildlife viewing, birds are migrating, and tours are provided year round. Crabbing trips to estuaries on the Oregon Coast are available. We are now taking tours of the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge on the beautiful Coquille River.

Out with some local bird experts on the South Umpqua river. We came across a few different species of turtles, and 37 species of birds on this trip. We like to provide experiences for all birding enthusiasts/experts and photographers.

It's starting to warm up here in the Umpqua Valley; Captain Bluebird is dusting off the Blue Dream boat and preparing for future adventures. The birds have began to sing and are looking for twigs for their nests. The rivers are lowering and it will soon be the perfect conditions to travel the waters. This spring, summer, and fall are the perfect seasons to book a tour.
