One of the daily activities (premium experience) at the Aulani Resort - make your own Mickey Ears! Though your app, you can make a reservation. Light up ears cost $36 and traditional ears cost $26. They may ask you to come the previous day to pick out your supplies, so it’s ready for you at your reserved time. Each set comes with unlimited leaves and 5 accessories (5 additional accessories are available for $5). Show up to the Pau Hana Room 10 minutes before your time to get some brief instructions and check in. Then it’s up to you to create! They allow you 30-45 to complete and are there to answer any questions. A fun time for kids and adults alike!!
Lunch with a view! While my lunch today may have only had a view of the steaming crater, the people at dinner tonight must have had an amazing view of the lava fountains after Kilauea’a eruption this afternoon. I just missed it by a couple of hours!

Sarah story time! During my first time back after 2020, one of my “to-do’s” was to sit and people watch from the porch. When I arrived, someone was already there, talking to a handful of cast members on the porch. I learned that it was Frank. Eavesdropping, I’ve learned he used to be a cast member and now comes to the porch every morning! That day, as well as every time I’ve been since, Frank has always had someone talking to him as I stop by. I’ve sat several times on the porch since, but finally this week I was able stop and chat! I was so excited to officially meet Frank - I admire the way he spends every morning!!

Other big Walt Disney World news today! Not only will be Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party return to Magic Kingdom Park, but a new nighttime event, Disney Jollywood Nights, is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

The Wake View Terrace looks amazing! It has everything you could want: infinity pool, South Beach-style resort deck, entertainment day and night and (most importantly) a full bar. Since I can’t be there today to celebrate the last day of “Splash Mountain,” instead, here’s my appreciation post. Scroll for a few rides over the years, plus the pics I took of the model of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure that they revealed during the D23 Expo earlier this year! I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped down into the briar patch, but luckily the last time that I did, I knew it would be my last! I can’t wait to Adventure through the Bayou when it reopens!
My favorite memory is from when we took the kids over Christmas break in 2007. It was near closing, it started to sprinkle, and the ride was empty. They wanted to ride it over and over and over - we had so much fun! And luckily, we had a short walk to the hotel afterwards!
I’m so happy to see these updates! This hotel is in need of some love and I’m excited to see what the finished product will be. We stayed right before construction began and loved the location! The sights and sounds you can see from your room are so magical - these touches just make it all fit into place! I’ll put some pics in my comments so you can see what I’m saying! ❤️💛

Starting 1/9/24, there are some updates to simplify and improve your Walt Disney World vacation. Here are my three favorite!! 1. Dining plans are back!! Choose between the Quick Service or Disney Dining Plans with your vacation package! 2. Theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets! 3. Early entry for resort guests and Extended Evening hours for Deluxe resort guests will continue throughout 2024! Disney is also working improving Genie+. I’m excited to hear the specifics of that when they have it available.
