Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani (2,165m)

The journey begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, where the trek starts. Sundarijal is known for its waterfalls and dense forest. The trail ascends through the Shivapuri National Park, offering glimpses of Kathmandu Valley. The trek continues uphill to Chisapani, a village known for its panoramic views of the Langtang range.
Day 2: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2,470m)

The second day starts with a descent to the small village of Pati Bhanjyang before climbing again towards Gul Bhanjyang. As the trail continues, you’ll pass through dense forests, and terraced farmlands, and cross several ridges before reaching Kutumsang, a beautiful village surrounded by mountains.
Day 3: Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3,650m)

This part of the trek is a steady uphill climb through rhododendron forests. As you gain elevation, the air becomes crisper, and the views become more stunning. Upon reaching Thadepati, trekkers can enjoy sweeping views of the Jugal Himal and other peaks in the Langtang region.
Day 4: Trek from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2,600m)

The trail descends steeply through dense forests and meadows to Melamchi Gaon, a traditional village where you can observe the rich culture of the local people. After a short break, the trek continues toward Tarkeghyang, a beautiful village inhabited by the Hyolmo people. This village is known for its ancient monasteries and traditional architecture.
Day 5: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2,610m)

This day involves an easier walk, with gradual ascents and descents through forests, streams, and small villages. The trail takes you to Sermathang, another village offering impressive mountain views. You will have time to explore the town and interact with the locals to learn more about their lifestyle and traditions.
Day 6: Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar and Drive Back to Kathmandu
- Trek Duration: 3-4 hours (Trek) + 3-4 hours (Drive)
On the final day, the trek descends to the Melamchi Bazaar, a small town by the river. After lunch, a vehicle will pick you up and drive you back to Kathmandu. You can relax and reflect on the beautiful memories of your short yet enriching trek.
Best Time to Trek
- Spring (March to May): Ideal for blooming rhododendrons and clear mountain views.
- Autumn (September to November): The weather is mild, and the skies are clear, making it the best time for photography.
Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate
It is suitable for trekkers of all experience levels. However, basic fitness is required due to some steep ascents and descents.
