Our team in Australia recently conducted a proof of concept for a multi-orbit solution, blending OneWeb, Starlink and GEO services, fully managed by Marlink SD-WAN. The solution was designed to be compact and easy to deploy across a fleet of vehicles to provide remote connectivity on the move.

The trial was conducted using the latest Kymeta, High Performance and GEO antennas attached to the top of an SUV. By combining the strengths of these technologies, we have demonstrated the potential for seamless connectivity even in the most remote locations. This solution creates new opportunities for connected vehicles.

It was an interesting and informative panel discussion at the International Workboat Show yesterday in New Orleans. Sponsored by Maritime Reporter & Engineering News, (ABS) and we focused on the key topic of cyber security in the maritime sector.

Keynote speaker, Rear Admiral Wayne R. Arguin Jr. from the U.S. Coastguard, outlined what vessel owner operators can expect to see in the emerging rules from the U.S Coastguard around cyber security. From here the panel drew on their different areas of expertise as to how this could impact operations – and what can be done to mitigate this.

This followed with a general discussion about how best to protect against cyber hacks, and the best practice to deploy to protect operations. We finished with an engaging Q&A. Thanks to all the panel and participants!
