It was such a delight to visit with Judy and Missy Loyet at the Nook this week. Judy was the great-granddaughter of Moses Tibbetts who built the house in the early 1900’s. I loved hearing the stories she recalled about being there as a little girl. It was awesome to learn about the people whose lives were connected to the home and their connection to each other. What an amazing history! Thank you again Judy for coming to visit and sharing your stories!

We were honored to have Kye and his family stay with us Monday night before he headed off to Iowa...hopefully, the Nook brought him a little luck. Sending him good vibes for his upcoming races. Looking forward to seeing him in Highland at the Speedway!

Last night at Davenport Speedway, Kye Blight nearly got his first win with the Summer Nationals.

He started on the outside pole and led the first 22 laps of the race before Tyler Erb passed him on lap 23.

It was his first Top 5 this .

Last weekend we had one of our favorite families stay with us again. :) Their little is 1 1/2 years old and is on the move. I wanted to have plenty of fun stuff for her during her stay so I made a trip to Holly's House of Hope to stock up. I got all of this for under $10! (small toys are $0.50 and large toys are$1.00)

Holly's House of Hope thrift store is open to ALL. They are currently looking for donations of summer clothing for all ages, toys, and shoes. If you have any of those things and are looking for somewhere to take them, look no further! They have a green bin placed outside near the front door where you can place your donations. If you need assistance getting items out of your vehicle, ring the doorbell and they will come out and assist you! Their hours are M-W-F 10:30 - 1:30

As I was cleaning the Nook this morning, getting it ready for upcoming guests, my mind took a journey down memory lane – back to November of 2021. Mark and I fell in love with this place the minute we stepped in and knew it was special. We truly had no idea what we were doing other than we had a vision… to create a place where friends and family would gather, creating memories they would take with them when they leave. It has been such a wonderful journey and we are so grateful for all of the owners who came before us who believed in this old house as much as Mark and I do – opening the door for us to create the next chapter. There is still more to come, but it’s fun looking back at where we started. Thanks to all who have stayed here, giving us the opportunity to be your host. It is truly been an honor.
