Exciting news! 😱🚢
“Today, Disney announced the acquisition of a partially completed ship that will bring the magic of a Disney Cruise Line vacation to new global destinations. Disney will work with the esteemed Meyer Werft shipbuilding company to complete the cruise ship previously known as the Global Dream in Wismar, Germany. The ship will be renamed with certain features reimagined under the world-renowned expertise of Walt Disney Imagineers and is expected to set sail in 2025.

The new ship, to be based outside the United States, will feature innovative Disney experiences along with the dazzling entertainment, world-class dining and legendary guest service that set Disney Cruise Line apart. The exterior will be adorned in the iconic, Mickey Mouse-inspired colors of the fleet, complete with signature red funnels.

The 208,000-gross-ton ship is expected to be among the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available. Disney Cruise Line expects the passenger capacity to be approximately 6,000 with around 2,300 crew members.

Construction will be completed at the former MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the management of Meyer Werft, the Papenburg-based company that built the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish. The ship’s previous owner filed for bankruptcy before completing the vessel, enabling Disney Cruise Line to secure it at a favorable price and within the capital expenditure guidance The Walt Disney Company provided on its recent earnings call. The project also secures employment for hundreds of former MV Werften employees and will provide opportunities for numerous maritime industry suppliers in the region.

More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date.”

⚠️🥳 Important Walt Disney World Operational Reopening Update: ⚠️🥳
"Update: Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
We are continuing to closely monitor Hurricane Nicole. WHILE THIS SCHEDULE COULD CHANGE, we are planning for a phased reopening beginning tomorrow, Nov. 10, based on current projections.

THEME PARKS:
Walt Disney World Resort theme parks will reopen in a phased approach beginning at noon tomorrow, Nov. 10. Planned theme park operating hours for tomorrow, Nov. 10, are:

🏰 Magic Kingdom Park: Noon to 6 p.m. (Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled for 7 p.m. to midnight.)

🌐 EPCOT: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

🌳 Disney's Animal Kingdom: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

🎬 Disney's Hollywood Studios: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Fantasmic! will not be presented tomorrow, Nov. 10, due to the production setup.)

Transportation to theme parks will begin 30 minutes prior to the scheduled park reopening time. 🚌

Reservations for bookable experiences within the theme parks will resume at the scheduled park reopening time. 📆

As previously shared, extended evening theme park hours at Magic Kingdom will be cancelled Wednesday, November 9. ⏰

To align with modified theme park hours, nighttime spectaculars will be cancelled Wednesday, November 9, including Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom park, Harmonious at EPCOT, and Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Partially used multi-day theme park tickets with a validity window impacted by Hurricane Nicole will be automatically extended within 24 hours to allow use of the remaining unused ticket days through September 20, 2023. In order to enter a park, both a park reservation and valid ticket for the same park on the same date are required.

DISNEY SPRINGS:
Disney Springs will begin a phased reopening at noon tomorrow, Nov. 10.

Disney Bus transportation to Disney Springs will resume at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 10.

Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf remain closed tomorrow, Nov. 10, and may reopen Friday, Nov. 11.

Donate to Toys for Tots while in the parks, or at home! 🥰🎁

Disney is once again collaborating with the Marine Toys for Tots Program to help bring joy to children in need this holiday season through the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. And this year, you can donate a toy both online through shopDisney.com or in person with a new, unwrapped toy at a designated drop-off location, a list of which can be found at Disney.com/toydrive. ❤️

For 75 years, Disney has supported Toys for Tots to help bring toys to children in need. In fact, this relationship dates to the program’s beginnings, when Walt Disney and his studio artists personally designed the original Toys for Tots train logo we still see and use today! 🤩

The Disney Ultimate Toy Drive takes place from now through Dec. 24, 2022, and you can donate a toy to Toys for Tots at shopDisney.com.

Or, if you’d prefer to gift in person, there are plenty of donation opportunities through Dec. 12, 2022. Bring a brand-new, unopened, unwrapped toy to the following destinations:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Closing today, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m. with last dining reservations at 5 p.m.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Closing today, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. with last dining reservations at 6 p.m.

Magic Kingdom Park: Closing today, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. Last dining reservations for Be Our Guest, Liberty Tree Tavern, Diamond Horseshoe and Cinderella’s Royal Table will be at 6 p.m., and last dining for all other dining reservations will be at 6:30 p.m.

At this time, all other Walt Disney World Resort hotels remain open to Guests.

Effective immediately, we will not enforce cancellation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences like Savi’s Workshop and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Guests with pre-paid reservations will be cancelled and refunded to the original form of payment.

Performances of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical R***e at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have been cancelled for Wednesday, November 9.

Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise has been cancelled for Wednesday, November 9.

Disney Springs:

Exciting Disney Cruise Line News! 🚢
Beginning November 14th 2022, for sailings departing from the United States, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests (regardless of vaccination status) to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to sailing. 👍
Disney Cruise Line continues to highly recommend that all Guests be fully vaccinated and encourages unvaccinated Guests to take a COVID-19 test two days prior to sailing. 💙

🎃 At various animal enclosures across the Walt Disney World Resort (including at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge - which is pictured here), the amazing Animal Care Teams go above and beyond every year to spread some Halloween spirit! 👻

This fun and festive tradition of carving Jack-o-lanterns for different animals on property is not only a great way to provide enrichment for the animals, but is also a delight for Guests to see as well! 🥰

So, the next time that you visit Walt Disney World around Halloween time, keep an eye out for adorable gourds, like these, in the animal enclosures! 🎃

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (in Walt Disney World) is officially reopening on November 13th!

The concept of this fun water park is that after a freak snow storm, someone built a ski resort in Florida, and then it melted! 😱
(Did I mention that this means that there is a chairlift that can take you up to some of the parks’ most iconic attractions?? 🤩)

“As part of Disney’s enduring respect for those who serve in the military and their families, we are hosting a flyover over Magic Kingdom Park by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration team on Thursday, October 27 to mark the arrival of National Veterans and Military Families Month in November. They will do two passes beginning at 9:30 a.m. over the park (weather dependent) culminating in their famous delta maneuver where they pass over the castle accelerating rapidly in different directions giving the appearance of a fireworks display.” ✈️✨🇺🇸

🚨Amazing royal news! 👑✨
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (which is a Princess character dining location, in EPCOT) will open its doors once again, on November 4th! 🥳

This fun, family-style dining experience is located inside of the Norway pavilion in the World Showcase, at EPCOT —— and it gives Guests a delicious taste of Norwegian cuisine! For example, Guests can sample things like traditional Norwegian meatballs, or the “Kylling og Melboller” (a Norwegian take on chicken and dumplings). But, if you’re looking for some more classic American-cuisine, they’ve got that too - with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Grilled Salmon, and Macaroni & Cheese! 🍽
And what meal is complete without dessert. The meal serves up both a Rice Cream with strawberry sauce and a Chocolate Roulade with lingonberry cream – yum! 🍨

Aside from the delicious eats and treats, what makes Akershus Royal Banquet Hall so special is it being home to a unique Storybook Dining featuring the Disney Princesses. Important Disneyland and Walt Disney World Update! 🚨🧞‍♂️

At Disneyland Resort, Disney Genie+ will now be $25 per day when purchased in advance as an add-on with a new ticket or vacation packages.

Single-day purchases for Disney Genie+ through the Disneyland app will begin at $25 per day, and may vary by date, based on demand. 📆

Also - exciting news! WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at Disney’s California Adventure Park is now part of Disney Genie+, providing guests with even more options to choose from when using this service! 🕸

Over at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Genie+ will also now vary in price based on the date that a guest is visiting on. Similar to theme park tickets, throughout the year, prices may be lower on less busy days and higher during peak periods like Thanksgiving and Christmas. 🎄

(For example, now through the end of October, prices will be $15 per Guest, per day on less busy dates, $22 on some of our busier dates, and somewhere in between on other dates (plus tax; prices subject to change beyond October)). 📆

As a reminder, single-day purchases of Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World Resort are only available directly through the My Disney Experience app on the guest’s date of visit. 📲

⚠️ WALT DISNEY WORLD UPDATE:

We continue to closely monitor weather conditions as we assess the impact of Hurricane Ian on our property.

While theme parks and many operating areas remain closed to guests today, we anticipate weather conditions to improve this evening.

Walt Disney World Resort will resume theme park and Disney Springs operations in a phased approach starting on Friday, Sept. 30.

“We have been closely monitoring Hurricane Ian with the safety and well-being of our Guests and Crew Members always at the top of mind.
Due to the weather conditions most recently forecasted for Port Canaveral and Central Florida, and the impact that it might have on port operations, the September 30, 2022, sailing of the Disney Wish has been cancelled.”

🚨🚨🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE!
Due to projections for Hurricane Ian, Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29.

Disney Springs will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
We anticipate Disney Springs will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29, and we will provide updates as we continue to track the storm.

We are monitoring weather conditions so we can make timely decisions for the safety of our Cast and Guests, including when it’s safe for Cast to return to the site to prepare for reopening. ⚠️
