Next Generation Weightlifting Club
Fantastic club performances, and a great time to be a part of
What a great weekend. Team Next Gen doing their stuff again on the big stage at the Ulster open. Our provincial championships with clubs from all over Northern Ireland and a very strong team from from Mullingar weightlifting club.
Everyone put in amazing performance and again we all came away with medals.
Brodie McClelland took gold in under 11 50kg group very consistent lifting as always, keeping up with the under 13 group.
Bailey Bacon's very first competition he didn't let nerves get to him and he took bronze with some massive technique improvements and some big lifts in under 13 50kg group.
Jude Davis put in amazing effort to take gold in the under 13 50kg moving on to the big 20kg bar can be very off putting for some Jude took it in his stride and secured the gold.
Elliot Montgomery took gold in under 13 56kg group making great progress at every competition always puts in 100% and showed on the platform.
Travis Brown star of the show for me this time had to wait until the last group lift with all the "big boys" with the rest of team Next Gen cheering him on he went out and totally smashed it, proving sometimes you just got rip up the game plan and do what feels right on the day. Travis took gold with massive clean and jerk in the under 13 77kg group.
Well done boys back training on Wednesday we've got Irish Nationals to prepare for.
