Trastevere Rome. Highly recommend staying in this region - so much going on and it’s definitely Foodie Paradise . Just across the bridge to Main Centre Rome - which is so walkable to everything . This was 11pm on a Fri night 🥰

So… I never got the knack of posting videos with the photos (Facebook won’t let you) so thought - more for our memories sake - I’d start posting some of the crazy videos we took along the way ! Our apartment was central London (a tad bit dodgey) and very drunk one night … we’d always take home a snack !

Crack up finish to our 6week holiday ! I dragged the boys off to a Pasta & Tiramisu cooking class ! They loved it ! I on the other - got it wrong so many times ! NOT LISTENING 😬 So good ! Spanish Steps to say farewell … and then off to the airport ! My bed 🥰 My Bennie 🥰 My Food 🥰🥰🥰 Take me home ♥️🙏🏼🇮🇹 Arrivederci Italy !!!! Va bene !!!! ###x

Nicky Pellegrino author I had so much pleasure of reading your latest book PS Come to Italy whilst I traversed through Matera , Ostuni , Alberobello , Polignano A Mare & Monopoli. Visiting & staying in a Trullo . Was a 4D experience 🤩Thank you so much for the heads up before I left NZ . Leaving Alberobello …. 40 min drive south to Ostuni . Driving the country side has such a Greek feel to it . Trulli houses dotted everywhere . Ostuni is a white washed town high up overlooking east Italy & out up the sea . Apullian food is another level and every Italian is so passionate about their food . So now I’ve narrowed it to traditional’Family Run ‘ trattoria. Wow! THey choose your food , cooked with passion , pride and family know how ! They present it to you with a smile and confidence of knowing you’ll love it ! My heart is stuck here in Puglia . Polignano A Mare … I want to say it’s like the Ibiza of Southern Italy !

Buenvenuitti Alberobello ! The home of Trulli Houses . It is said , A Trullo was constructed because they were easy to pull down when the tax man came ! 19th century . They have symbols on theirs roofs and a spire which generally was the signature of the builder . Cute little things are making Puglia the up and coming tourist destination 🤩 Everywhere you drive - olive groves. Monopoli (Fishing Village ) - picked up 1.5kg of prawns - need my garlic chilli prawn fix … and yep .. I have tagliatelle to soak up the sauce iso bread 🥰🥰🥰

And Wow! The contrasts of Italy 🤩 Its why I love love love Italy ! Matera . Southern Italy . We are staying in a cave dated back to Palaeolithic times BC! Built in the cliff to hide from invaders . The Sassi takes about 20 mins to walk around the whole area . I came here because I was so intrigued , but when you see it . It’s amazing .

Michelangelo’s David … as in David & Goliath . He stands 17feet tall and weighs over 5 ton . When Michelangelo carved , it was as if he was releasing his subjects from the stone (marble ) . Every other carver practised on plaster first - then did their marble . But M was so good his creations were born from his mind and released into the world . He did David at 27yrs old . He died at 89yrs .

Whilst our arrival in Florence (Fierenze) was hit with a heavy fine for riding the bus without a ticket - Portofino had a system of pay on the bus but not here - and we chucked our 5 bags on the bus (only 2nd bus we’ve ridden ) looking for a way to pay - bus drivers don’t talk to you - officers got on €127 later 😞 Fair to say I was in tears cause they won’t help you or explain - just demand your card and passport ! You buy tickets at the Tabacchi Shops!!! Waiting for us at our AIRBNB was thee most loveliest couple who had a bottle of wine for us and all the angst melted away . I guess holidays can’t be 100% perfect 🙏🏼🌞 Then Mother Nature reminded me why I’ve come to Tuscany 🥰🥰🥰

Gorgeous day spent walking from Rapallo to Portofino . The waters were so stunning we had to swim at Baia di Paraggi . A beer at Disco bar Nord with fab music . Loved this day 🥰🥰

So (5 fishing villages ) perched on the cliffs - painted different colours so the fisherman could see their homes / village from afar . All day ferry from Levanto was €39 return - hop on hop off as you please. Just gorgeous but TBH - same experience at each one . Lots of gorgeous Lemons ! My fav was Manarola 🥰💕🙏🏼

Italian Riviera… Time to chill . 4 days of nothing but beauty . Vino e Birra on the balcony and Chinese food 🤣🤣🤣 Clare Jackson Rapallo is stunning 🥰🥰🥰 This beautiful balcony is all ours ! And there is two of them ! Rooftop.
