Watching a variety of whales near Pleasant Bay. The Fins (75 feet +) are in groups and are only 2.5 miles from shore. When traveling to the Fins we are coming across pods of Pilot whales, Dolphins and Minke whales. What a show !! The live entertainment is an added bonus. Way to go Capt. Stan! See you at the wharf !

Great conditions on the water today, nice and smooth...found white sided dolphins the first of the season. Also seen and shark, hopefully a Basking shark ..cause it was big!

The pilots have landed. The migration of the whales has ended near the shores of good ole Cape Breton once again.
The sightings off Pleasant Bay this week are Pilot and Minke Whales, seals, sea birds and of course beautiful scenery... see you at the wharf.

Humpback whales (the big ones that show their flukes or tail)
Fin whales (second largest in the world)
Pilot whales (the east coast equivalent to the Orca "Killer" whale)
Minke whales (shaped like a torpedo)
Sei whales (fastest whale alive!)
White-sided Dolphin (skip along with great speed!)
Common Dolphin (watch them chase the boat!)
