Did you know that Mallorca has a whopping 25 Blue Flag beaches?

The Blue Flag is a globally recognised symbol of quality and is one of the most well-known environmental symbols worldwide. Blue flags are awarded by the independent organisation, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) . The organisation evaluates beaches every year and monitors their facilities and cleanliness. It is no mean feat to be awarded a blue flag as along with excellent quality of bathing water, there are over 32 criteria to comply with, including cleanliness, safety, information for beach users, environmental education and protection of the coastal environment.

One of the island's best beaches that makes the grade is the lovely Es Trenc (seen here!). Four kilometres of Caribbean blue waters and soft white sand backed by rolling dunes and a protected natural park.

Get in touch and we'll advise you on the best places to stay to enjoy some of the best beaches in Europe!

Palma’s imposing Sa Seu Cathedral is an impressive and beautiful sight, and one which always manages to grab your attention every time you pass.

The 13th cathedral with its huge soft yellow sandstone buttresses is Palma’s main landmark and it was created to show anyone arriving by sea the power and might of the Christian conquerors.

It's one of Europe's tallest Cathedrals and has undergone important reformations by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí and Spanish artist Miquel Barceló. Need we say anymore? Head to Catedral de Mallorca to book tickets and read more.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is truly magical. It's a place where beautiful coastline meets breathtaking mountains, and historical culture sits alongside outdoor adventure. Base yourself in or close to Valldemossa, Deia, Soller or Fornalutx and you're in for a treat.

There are some super flight deals for April 2024 with flights from the UK from £20 each way to Palma de Mallorca (check out Sky Scanner for flight options).

Love walking? Then head to Mallorca. Often described as a walkers’ paradise due to it's attractive and varied scenery, the wonderful climate (walking is possible year-round bar July and August) and the relative seclusion of many of the walking paths. The island has two mountain ranges - the dramatic craggy Sierra de Tramuntana in the northwest and the more rolling, greener Sierra de Levante in the east. The Tramuntana’s are the much larger and popular of the two, but both offer great walks and amazing scenery across the island and towards the sea.

Great bases for walking in the Northwest Tramuntana region include Valldemossa, Deia, Soller, and Fornalutx. In the Northeast Tramuntana’s, try Pollenca and Alcudia.

We love the quaint tram that connects Old Town Soller to the Port de Soller. Travelling through orange groves with mountain views all around, Tren De Soller offers 10 minutes of nostalgic joy and a perfect way to journey between these two beautiful places.

Want to add some gentle traffic free cycling to your stay in Mallorca? Try the Via Verde Green Way Cycle Path, an old railway line converted into a delightful (flat) track for walkers and cyclists that cuts through the countryside in this unspoilt South East corner of Mallorca. The old stations have been renovated and provide great places to divert off and explore the towns and villages of San Llorenc, Son Carrio, Son Severa and Arta along the way. Both San Llorenc and Arta are our favourites with a nice selection of Cafes and pretty central areas.

For outdoor lovers, a trip to the Torrent de Pareis is a must. This beautiful unspoilt hidden beach and dramatic gorge sits in Mallorca's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Tramuntana mountain range.

The easiest (& most pleasant) way to reach this secluded spot is to take the picturesque boat trip from the Port de Soller with Barcos Azules. Alternatively, you can snake through the mountains by car or bus (or bike)…

On your next stop in Palma de Mallorca, why not take a visit to Bellver Castle. Built in the early 13th Century, it's a great place for those that like to add some culture and history to their stay. Take the bus from Palma or it's a pleasant 3km walk along the marina and then a climb up to the castle. The views from the castle are the best views of Palma and it's worth a trip up there just for these.
