SAKAY NA! Manila's infamous jeepneys are the most common kind of transportation. The ticket is reasonable, however this is due to the fact that jeepneys do not have air conditioning and are often overcrowded.
There are various hypotheses as to how the term "jeep" came to be, but the overwhelming agreement is that it came from "GP," which stands for "General Purpose" or "Government Purpose," and was used to describe the military jeeps employed during WWII. Interesting fact!

Oh Philippines, full of islands, full of wonders! The Chocolate Hills is a natural wonder that only a few lucky visitors can see on the island of Bohol. Now they have became the biggest tourist destination of the Philippines; the landscape is composed of quite distinctive geological formations: rounded hills and very close to one other that look like the camel humps.
The Tarsier Center of Research and Development, a characteristic Philippine primate that is on the verge of extinction, is another distinctive attraction. With a "substantial" weight of 150 grams, this is a beautiful and sweet tiny creature with large eyes dominating its body. It has a length of 40 cm, but the tail accounts for two-thirds of it!

One of our favorite holidays is the start of the New Year. We celebrate the new year in our home country with spectacular fireworks displays, a large family midnight feast, baskets of round fruits, lots of jumping, and making loud noises to ward off evil spirits (we know, but hey.). It's the holiday we've always looked forward to, even as children.
But, more than the festivities, we adore it for what it represents: fresh starts. Yes, its origins can be traced back to Pagan times. Sure, you can turn a new leaf on any other day of the year, but I think it's more motivating when you do it with the rest of the globe.
It also resets the clock for us as travelers. The start of a new year provides us with a fresh start, an opportunity to reassess our paths, fix our mistakes, achieve better, go further, and learn more than we did the previous year, the previous travels. Way to go, 2022!
