The calf, still small nestled up to its mother with pure innocence and trust. Why do hippos open their mouth so wide?

Hippo jaws are specially adapted to open their mouths extremely wide without tearing the skin or ligaments.

Elephants are the largest land mammals on earth and have distinctly massive bodies, large ears, and long trunks. They use their trunks to pick up objects, trumpet warnings, greet other elephants, or suck up water for drinking or bathing, among other uses.

African elephants generally are slow moving creatures. Their regular pace is 6 km/hour but, they can reach speeds of up to 24 km/hour when running. How much they travel each day depends on the amount of resources in close proximity that they require; the average walking distance for African elephants is around 10 km a day.

African elephants are active animals for the majority of time in a 24-hour period, due to the amount of food they must consume each day. They are dormant in the early morning hours with an additional sleep midday for a total of 4 hours of sleep every day. During this time they scavenge for food and groom themselves. Grooming consist of African elephants using their trunks to cover themselves with mud or water, and the process helps them maintain hydration.

- Behavior:
> Servals are solitary animals, and their territories can range from 2 to 12 square miles (5 to 31 square km), depending on the availability of resources.
> They are crepuscular, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk.

- Reproduction:
> Female servals give birth to litters of one to four kittens after a gestation period of about 66 to 77 days.
> The kittens are raised in a den and are weaned at around three months of age.

While servals are fascinating creatures, it's important to note that they are wild animals and should be treated with respect and appreciation for their natural behaviors and habitats.
