Croquet Championship
The World Croquet Championship is happening now at the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club in Middlesex, the largest croquet facility in the world!
CBCC in Hartfield was selected to host the 15th annual World Croquet Federation Golf Croquet (GC) World Championship. This event is held every two years and was last held in Brighton, UK.
A total of 80 players from 23 different countries have gathered here this week with the practice and welcoming ceremony being held today, October 17th.
The players will be participating in several "round robin" and "knockout" rounds leading up to the World Championship final on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Bundle up and grab a warm beverage and be a spectator for this incredible event that we are so lucky to have right here in our backyard.

🗓️ Founders Day in Urbanna on August 3!
🎩 Join us for a free, day-long event presented by the Friends of Urbanna, featuring a June 1776 living history event. Witness a strategy meeting between historical interpreters portraying Founding Fathers George Mason and Richard Henry Lee at Urbanna Baptist Church, 121 Watling Street, at 11 a.m.
🥁 Other activities include:
A fife and drum march through town preceding the 11 a.m. performance.
Tours and storytelling at Urbanna’s unique Scottish Factor Store, the only remaining Scottish Factor Store in the country, home to the valuable Mitchell Map.
History in the streets and at the docks with recreated 17th and 18th-century ships, the Explorer and Luna, and an encampment with “Anas Todkill,” a companion of 17th-century Chesapeake explorer John Smith.
Tours of Urbanna’s historic home, Lansdowne, and the 18th-century courthouse.
