As the Province anticipates possible adverse effects of the Tropical Depression “PERLA”, posing damages and threats to the Ilocano Community, all City and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers are advised of the following precautionary measures to avert possible loss of lives and properties:

1. Coordinate with your Local Chief Executive and Barangay officials about the prevailing weather condition. Take all necessary precautions and regularly monitor weather updates.

2. Prioritize and regularly check the health condition of vulnerable groups: senior citizens, PWDs, pregnant women and infants.

3. Prohibit your residents, especially children, from swimming and fishing in swollen rivers and creeks.

4. Advise all residents to limit outside exposures and stay indoors during heavy downpour, strong winds, or thunderstorm accompanied by lightning.

5. Advise all farmers to immediately harvest all martured palay today.

6. Advise Barangay Officials, farmers and livestock raisers to ready animal shelters in safe areas and for fishermen not to venture out to sea when there is a gale warning/big waves, typhoons or adverse sea weather conditions.

7. Conduct inspection of evacuation centers and ensure their functionality.

8. Always prepare and ready equipment- drump trucks, rubber boats, generator sets, ambulances etc.

9. Recommend to your respective Local Chief Executive the suspension of classes if there is great risk to school children, pupils and students.

10. Constantly monitor weather conditions and Conduct Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment Meeting if the need arises.
