Can I just say a long read, but please avoid INGOLDMELLS SEACROFT MOBILITY at all costs!
We have just gotten back from a week at Chapel, before coming we ordered 2 scooters, my mum ordered hers first and then a family friend ordered theres, my sister made a mistake on the family friends and asked for a scooter instead of a boot scooter, so she had rang 2 weeks prior to this to get this swapped.. we was told to ring when we get to the van and then they would deliver both scooters to us.
On arrival to our van I rang to say we had arrived, to which i was told that 1 (the scooter we had ordered 2 months in advance as a boot scooter) was infact a normal scooter and the other one was a boot scooter (the one my sister had changed) so after them debating that we had changed it when we didnt we wanted them both as boot scooters, they luckily found one in the shop. When I told them what pitch we was staying in the lady rudely stated "you'll have to come and fetch them we aren't delivering them".
Now luckily enough for starters we had a car because if not my mum and our family friend would've been stranded with no scooters when they was both relying on them.
My partner went to fetch them and brought them back, both was working fine, my mums however died within the 1st half an hour which we thought was fine and we put it on charge before using it at the night time.
My mum went from the caravan to the club tropicana to which the scooter had broken down again, so managed to get it back to the van after the club and put it on charge again ready for sunday.
Sunday came now baring in mind my mum had peripheral vascular disease in her legs which means she cannot walk very far and she becomes in a lot of pain and quite quickly. We tried to ring the company but it was shut. The phone number for emergencies didnt connect. So my mum was without a scooter for the whole of sunday because it wouldn't move, therefore she had to walk to the club which put her in a lot of pain.
Monday came - My mum rang the guy at the shop and again, he said "your going to have to bring it back. I'm alone at the shop I dont no what u expect me to do" so my partner loaded up the scooter and took it back to the shop and they swapped the battery. the scooter was working fine again after a full charge. Went to the millers bar, when we went to leave the scooter had died again, which meant my mum was stranded 20 minutes away from the van, unable to walk that far back to the van and my brother and my brother in law had to push her and the scooter back to the van. This caused both my brother and brother in law to be poorly the next day. Again, worked fine after a full charge and was told that this battery was perfect.
Tuesday - my mum decided she wanted to go and see the beach with the rest of the family that went, we cut through golden palm to the gate and round to Tomlinson's cafe, to which guess what?? The scooter died again! This time I rang the company and told them that his isnt on anymore and to come and collect the scooter as we were stranded with it outside the cafe. The guy on the phone was rude again and said "I'll have you know that it was a perfect battery we tested it before it went out" so I said it isnt good enough and I want it collecting and a new one bringing. We was told we would have to wait for the guy to go from skeggness to ingoldmells pick up the scooter and come to us at chapel which would be about 1hr approx, that was fine, we was prepared to wait. It was 12.30pm by time we was waiting, I rang the chap back and asked where he was because my mum was outside the cafe and she wanted to see the beach and the kids playing but couldnt. I was told "the guy coming to me is out on deliveries you'll have to wait" so my partner took the battery off and had a look to find out the terminal had broken and it was red hot scalding to touch, 3 HOURS later they turned up. Brought another scooter same make and told us to swap the battery onto the other one when we had explained that the terminal was severely hot and if we would've left it in the car or placed it inside the van it could've caught fire we was told "I dont work for that guy ring him with ya problems".
A random guy then told my dad that they buy these scooters off kids who nick them for £10 each and thats why they're damaged.
This scooter that was delivered...he dropped it off and drove straight off.. the new scooter he had brought was doing the EXACT same thing. not moving anywhere.
So I rang them back and said "look mate. This is beyond the joke now. My mum has wasted a day sitting outside a cafe were she could've been sat watching the kids playing on the sand the same thing is happening with this scooter " we was told "no I don't think so, I tested that scooter before it went out and it was fine" my dad then grabbed the phone and out of anger for my mum said that "if the scooter wasnt collected and money returned would've been left in a ditch somewhere and told him what caravan number we was at and that he wanted the money bringing" to which the guy replied "erm dont even try making idle threats"..
on arrival back to the van the guy turned up.
Got the scooter in the van and drove off with no money handed over and said "go to the shop to get ur money" so once again my partner had to drive to the shop in ingoldmells to which I spoke to the guy and I said that " I apologise what happened and what was said but it had ruined 3 days of my mums holiday, showed her up blind when she was stopping randomly and people had to push her" to which we was laughed at by the guy behind the counter. I stated I wanted a full refund for one of the scooters and he rang his boss told his boss that everything was good. Counted the money and chucked it in my hand like I had some sort of disease.
That meant Wednesday, thursday, friday and today my mum had no scooter. She missed out on fantasy island with the kids, the beach, the millers bar, and much much more all because SEACROFT MOBILITY sell dodgy scooters.
Please please please, if you're thinking of taking someone away that's disabled or elderly please avoid seacroft mobility at all costs!!! Those terminals was red hot. they could've blown our van up, or my dads car. And that company as a whole ruined my mums last 3 days of her holiday, I hope they read this and are really happy with themselves. because this same message here is going to the head office.
