Pack your eclipse glasses and head to a St. Louis District recreation site for the 2024 total solar eclipse on April 8, and witness the lineup of the sun, the moon, and earth. Totality (total eclipse) occurs when the moon covers the entirety of the sun except for the corona, or sun’s atmosphere.
While the path of the 2024 eclipse stretches from southwest Texas, all the way to Maine, with Missouri and Illinois falling in the path of total darkness, programs and viewing opportunities offered at St. Louis District recreation sites will provide unique experiences for people of all ages to experience this amazing event.
