SASKATOON...
One my kids and my favorite places to go for a quick getaway where we still have tonnes of fun together!!! My husband hates travelling so many of our trips lately have been just me and the kids cause we love it!
These pictures are just an assortment of some of the times that we have been to Saskatoon. Now that I am doing thos page I will be postingpictures that will be trip specific and I will be including more food pictures but for this post this is what I have so far!
Also if in the posts you notice that there are places that you know of that haven't been mentioned please add them in the comments! I will try to go to them especially in Saskatoon since we do go there quite often.
So here goes!!! A list of all the places we have eaten at, if it was good or bad, why it was and more!
Ok so starting out I have to say our favorite place to eat in Saskatoon is OEB. It is honestly fantastic and we alway feel safe there. OEB is a breakfast/brunch place. Most items on the menu can be made gf and they take care to prevent against contamination by having a gf only toaster with some of the best gf bread I have ever eaten, the potatoes are not done in the deep fryer, and ALL of the waffles are gf!!! They do not have any regular waffles so you do not need to worry about the machine they use. Make sure to go early when going to OEB because it gets very busy. It is downtown so parking is a bit tricky but if you park on 3rd by McKercher you can easily find a spot if you are able to walk a little bit.
KEOS
This is a really great Thai place where a majority of the menu is naturally gf. I always get the ginger beef which comes with your choice of noodles or rice and has tonnes of veges (peppers, carrots and onions) which is nice cause sometimes it can be hard to find healthy gf options. A lot of people really enjoy the coconut rice although I personally did not cause I found it really sweet but they also have Pho and lots of other gf options. I think there are only actually two or three sauces that are not GF so rather than marking the menu with gf options they mark the items that are not gf.
WENDELL CLARKS
Another favorite of ours. They have burgers with gf buns, their fries are safe and made in a gf fryer, you can get gf wings, nachos and more. The staff are very knowledgeable and if they don't know something which is rare they will ask the kitchen staff. I love the chicken and brie sandwich that they have and their fries are home cut fries that are really yummy. They have large portions and decent prices.
PINK CADILLAC
My kids love this restaurant. We only learned about it the last time we were in Saskatoon so we have only been once but their buns!!! Their buns are SO good!!! So gf buns and burgers and they have a dedicated fryer so those are also gf. Some of their milk shakes can be done gf just ask them to clean their machine first. This is a great restaurant to take kids cause it is 50's diner style and if you are lucky enough you might even get a spot in a cadillac table!
CITIZEN BAKERY
This bakery is SO good. While they do take precautions using separate baking spaces and separate tongs not everyone will feel safe eating here because one thing I have noticed is they will have regular items on the same tray as gf items which I am not happy with. They do keep a decent size space between them but I will not order any of the ones that are sharing a tray which thankfully is usually only one gf item. And the rest are separate. Hopefully that all makes sense. Their cookies are huge and SO good. These are what I get every time. I get a chocolate pecan and a chocolate peanut butter one. Theur carrot cake is amazing. It is super moist and they are smart enough to have not put raisins in them! Lol. Also the Millionaires bars is fantastic. They have vegan options too. Also it is a coffee shop and they serve some lunch options so you can sit in and have a visit if you want.
I do have more places to add to this post so I will come bad and add to it later but this is a start. I will also add more trips to the page.
